I'm going to be doing eBay training workshops and seminars soon. I will NOT be using the authorized eBay materials because I attended eBay university and it was boringgggggg. I can pay the big bucks to be called an "trained by ebay" specialist, but I'm not sure that is such a good thing. They try to train you how to do everything using the EBAY site. Not advice I would give anyone.

My question for everyone is, have you ever taken a workshop or seminar? If so, which one. If not, what would make it beneficial and fun for you?

Let's face it, most of us sellers never get to meet each other cus we're always in front of our computers doing listings!! LOL

Let me know your thoughts.

I've never attended a workshop or seminar nor would I pay money to attend eBay university.

I started out with eBay back in 97 via my husband's account. Progressed to my own and then we have two more...for a total of four eBay IDs.

I've learned as I've gone along.

Plus I read alot and have joined other sellers on forums and boards.

Some boards belong to eBay but most don't.

I've been blessed to belong and be an admin for a selling group that have some of the best sellers and most knowledgeable ecommerce builders around the internet.

Belonging to, and reading forums such as this one is helpful.

Here are a few groups I belong to:

Online Traders Web Alliance

An Online Auction Association Dedicated to the
Independent Online Auction Seller and Merchant.
We Provide Auction Discussion Forums and Auction Message Boards that enable you to interact with other auction users, get auction help, and network with other online auction users.
Experience what collaboration with other online auction sellers can do for your business with a membership in the Online Traders Web Alliance!
As a professional online auction seller and merchant you need to stay up-to-date with technological advances, legislative issues, and market conditions. Let the Online Traders Web Alliance help. Become a member now and experience the power of Community, Collaboration, and Knowledge.
Tulip Tools

There are more. I always tell persons to scout out information from the eBay Community Boards which are filled with links and information that members (not eBay) place.

The above are just two of many that I glean information from and there are alot of really great minds that belong to this board also.

Good Luck,
Donna

That's good advice Donna. But everyone learns differently, and some people like the human interaction and visual approach. As in, "can't you just SHOW me?". This of course, is for the new people selling on eBay.
