Morning All - Can someone please suggest a way to get an accurate shipping rate on E-bay. Up to this point 99% of my items have weighed under a lb. So, the shipping and handling calculator says it will be 3.95 for shipping. Yet when I use our Pitney Bowes mail machine, no way do those packages cost $3.95 for shipping. I currently don't charge a handling fee. Does someone have a simple solution to this issue? I just hate to see people pay $3.95 for shipping on an item that really only cost 39 cents. Thoughts suggestions??? Thanks in advance - Dawn PS - Do any of you give refunds on shipping because of an overage or do you think most buyers are accustomed to paying $3.95 for shipping? Thank you again for any insights you may have - Dawn a/k/a Ms. Alien

My calculated rates have seemed to be right on target. Are you choosing First Class mail?

p.s. I don't refund shipping. I also charge $1.00 extra on most items in case I've underestimated the weight of the package, since at listing the item isn't packed up yet.

Thank you for your help - I've just noticed that some of my items have the shipping listed and some don't - (sigh). Would you recommend changing the shipping in ebay or on Auctiva? I appreciate your help - Dawn

We try to keep shipping prices as close to actual as possible, but we'll refund if I WAY overestimate a shipping charge.

Anything 13 oz and under can ship at the First Class Mail rate, which is much cheaper than Parcel Post.

Well I shipped one today that only cost 39 cents vs. 3.95 - (sigh) so I think what I'll do is just change the shipping total on the acutal invoices (I don't have very many listings 12 maybe) and then when I start the new listings I'll use the "handy dandy" auctiva shipping template- thank you for your input - Dawn
