I'll start it off...

Cavaleriesoldaat is actually two words: Cavalerie (Dutch for Cavalry) and Soldaat (Dutch for Soldier)

Inspiration-I was a "Cavalry Soldier" with the US Army's 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Hood, Texas for 5 years.

I couldn't think of anything at the time suitable, but i would like to have something catchy. Can I can my user name pleseeee, or will it mess everything up in my account ?

I THINK you can use a different display name. Your login name will always be carolelliot if you do that. Try to edit your profile and see what you can do. Smile

I've been on the cyberspace/internet journey since 1991. Usenet forums, etc.

In 1997, I decided my online "handle" needed to suit my personality. I was investigating some creative writing online venues and really felt that Gosh..My online handle is boring in comparison to others nor does it make persons perk at my writing when they see it. Those with "better" online handles seemed to get their articles submitted faster than I did. (BTW, I'm now a published authorette)I was using my three initials with numbers behind it...how boring....so a change was needed.

The first thing that came to mind was Southern. I'm born, bred and many generationed Southern and very proud of my heritage. Next was a no-brainer. I was raised to believe that I am a diamond, a gem...a Jewel. Voila! An online handle that suited me to an absolute T. But Southern Jewel was taken. Thus began my tweaking of letters...I considered it like trying to get your name to fit on a vanity tag. <smile> Finally after many tries, Suthrnjewl was born! And the name has stuck, too!

I own both the domain names, Suthrnjewl and SouthernJewel so my customers can always find me.

So there you have it..
The long drawn out tale of my name and how it came about.

I love hearing how folks come up with their online personna's...always insightful to their personalities!
(Except for Auctiva David of course, JOKE! Teasing!)

Take care,
Donna

Is that where you met your beautiful Texas bride?

Thank goodness you 'splained your name. All this time I thought the CA might have stood for California..I figured your wife's name must be Valerie and perhaps you tweaked soldier spelling to suit you.

Now it works in my pretty gray matter!

Take care, Donna

Yes, mam. Her Dad called me a "Carpetbagger"...which I still joke about to this day.

My id I use is dutch because...surprise, surprise, I'm Dutch. I'm actually second generation, but we have a very strong connection back home.

Most people on the net end-up just calling me "cav" or "cavy"

eBay is kinda the perfect job for work at home Mom's (or as I call them "professional Mom's"). And over time I've come to notice that said Mom's are quite a powerful force in the world of eBay.

As having been for 20+ years and currently the stay at home mother of three, an eBay force to be reckoned with, a trophy wife <wink> and so very, very much more.....
Your statement above would be ranked in the top 99.9% of great lines for any person seeking public office. <smile>
