Pending Plan: $9.95/MO. STANDARD FLAT RATE PLAN

Standard Plan
This plan includes all Auctiva's Free Marketing Tools.
Includes 1 GB of image hosting.
Complete access to over 1,700 listing templates.
Includes full access to Auctiva’s Premium Tools.
$9.95 per month
15 Free Listings <-------- HERE *********
$0.50 / listing over 15 <------- and HERE *******
No Transaction Fees

Integrated Image Hosting
This option allows you to store up to 1 GB for free.
You will only be charged if you store more than 1 GB.
$9.95 per additional 500 MB
No additional charge over 2.5 GB

Is this a mistake, or did I not sign up for the correct plan?

Hey Watrocket -

If you wanted the $9.95 plan you will get everything we state on the plan pricing page. Looks like we still have a couple of places to clean up some where some of the old pricing somehow managed to live on with the new pricing. Smile Thanks for bringing that to our attention. We will get right on that tomorrow - but don't worry - for the $9.95/mo you get unlimited listing, full access, 1GB free.

Hope that clears it up for you!

I am almost positive this part pertains to the $2.95 plan, but would like to hear it from Jeff!

Ok QUESTION...

I'd love to stay and even pay for this new plan or even the $2.95 one but I'd have to with hold this in the future due to life's circumstances right now. My internet connection will be terminated on the 15th because of family issues. I probably won't even be selling at this time. I'd love to come back to this in the future however. Is there a way to keep my account active but not pay for anything at this point??? I haven't picked a plan yet but it still looks like I'd have to be paying for "image storage". What should I do?

[QUOTE]Geo,
Here is a reply Jeff gave to someone on another thread regarding those who had paid $180.00 upfront. Perhaps you could just request a refund now, instead of risking what eBay may or may not do and choose a plan from the new pricing plans.

Thanks, Life is Like.... may be a good idea - at least I could ask for that portion of what I charged that I'd have to pay interest on at the end of the month.

I have just one question...if you are offering this deal of $9.95 a month then why were you trying to get so much in the first place with the FVF and insertion fees etc.?

I think he answered that quite directly. At least for me he did. I can't speak for him to know all the why's or how come's, but I'm accepting it and moving forward.

a few facts are abundantly clear:

  • You’d prefer a simple, no-surprises flat-rate pricing structure.
  • You don’t want to pay any additional FVFs.
  • You want image hosting included.
  • Your margins are tight.

If you are asking yourself, “Why didn’t they just use this pricing in the beginning?” the answer is that I thought our customers would like to have the choice of picking a tailored plan based on usage. Clearly, I was wrong. All too often, large companies fail to listen to their customers. Auctiva’s brightest future includes the users who brought us this far. I am making this change now so you can get back to doing business. I sincerely hope that this pricing change allows you continue using the tools you have come to depend on.

Thank you for your business, loyalty and understanding.

Sincerely,
Jeff Schlicht
CEO, Auctiva Corporation

He made a mistake. He apologized.

The Auctiva CEO is receiving a lot of gushing kudos for being such a decent guy, big enough to apologize. [Expletive deleted], he tried to screw the pants off all of us. Only when his less avaricious competition pushed his company to the verge of bankruptcy did he back off and make available reasonably priced services. Why are consumers such saps? Nonetheless, I'll likely return, sap or not, as Auctiva is now offering a quality product at a reasonable price. Fortunately, I hadn't yet gotten around to deleting my images on their website.

Could it be because they are offering a quality product at a reasonable price?

I am glad that I sat back, took a few deep breaths and put business on hold waiting for Auctiva to make things right. This is a sensible solution; low monthly fees, no listing or transactions to eat away our small profits, and a realistic amount of image hosting. I am also glad to hear you are working on the pricing of our AC stores. To Jeff and the Auctiva staff, you have worked hard, and taken some abuse. Thank you. You made yourselves available for discussion, took in all ideas, realistic or not, and came up with a final solution that should fit just about everyone. Thanks to all of you, I am glad to be staying with a company that cares so much for it's customers. I worked out in the corporate business world for 25 years, and believe me, there are many companies who would have laughed this off. NMB

Jeff,

I hate to bother you but I have 3 auctiva and 3 ebay accounts. In previous posts I had asked if these could be supported with 1 payment plan. You basically told me to contact support so I did and I opened a case. I like the new flat rate plan that you just introduced. Can you contact support and get it approved for me for all of my accounts(Really 1 main account and 2 smaller accounts). I have emailed support several times and they have promptly replied but don't seem to have the authority to make a deal.
My case number is 154939
Thank you,
Charlie

well, in this economy, not many companies would survive laughing this off ... they would be bankrupt.

Sorry, cheerleaders - this is one apology that came a little too late for alot of folks that were hurting - some have been totally destroyed financially and/or emotionally in the past few months.

So many pleas fell on deaf ears.
"Please let us know about (fill in the blank) ...
"What happened to my categories (or fill in the blank)...
"When are we going to see an update ...

Or worse than silence, posts and/or threads were deleted, people were "punished" (24 hour "think about it" chair), those who were vocal or "frank" in their postings were at the very least chastised.

I don't hear sincerity in this apology - I hear fear.

I sure am glad I just sat back and waited. I did check out some other sites just in case and while there are some good ones out there they all have one fault in common to me, their templates suck.

I'm still a bit miffed that I had to put on hold making any new listings while I waited for this thing to play out but glad Jeff has at last listened to the users of Auctiva instead of whoever came up with that other piece of c--p pricing plan. (I'm sure that was not ALL his idea)

1 gig of images included is fair as is the price and will encourage folks to clean house from time to time too. I was shocked to see I had over 70mb of old pics stored from old listings, I deleted them and just left pics for current listigs and ended up with 6mb.

I just got my busines lic and have become a dealer for several product lines so at some point I will have so many listings running I will go over the 1gig limit but the way I look at that is I should be pulling in enough from sales by that time to afford to pay for more room.

Sure glad I didn't have to leave!!

Thanks Jeff!

David

I honestly nearly fell off my chair when I received the new email about the flat rate plan.... I have spend DAYS moving all my listings and photos elsewhere as I thought it was going to cost me over $70 per month based on the last email I received. While I appreciate that an apology has been made and a realistic price has been offered I will never get the time lost back from both the switchover and the loss of new listing time. A few more listings and I will be gone. Shame it took so long to offer a proper deal.
