We received your message stating you can change your plan. We paid for the $180 up front.
1)How does this differ from the $9.95 per month

2)Can a refund be issued and our plan be changed to the $9.95 per month?

First of all, I would like to start out by saying that as Auctiva's founder and CEO, I am very sorry and humbly apologize for any frustration and anxiety we caused you to experience about the future of your business over the past week and a half. I know that these recent events have greatly upset our community and I take full responsibility for that. I am asking you to give me a chance to make it right.

Flat Rate Pricing

Auctiva is officially moving to flat monthly pricing: $9.95/mo. everything included

  • 1GB Image Hosting
  • A Faster, Easier-To-Use One-page Lister
  • Bigger Supersized Images
  • Better-looking Templates
  • eBay's Most Popular Scrolling Gallery
  • Free Scheduling
  • 24/7 Customer Support
  • plus all of our other time and money saving tools

In addition to our Standard flat rate plan, we have a special Starter flat rate plan for ultra-casual sellers: $2.95/mo., up to 15 listings, 500MB image hosting.

Why Change Now?

Since we first announced our new pricing structure, I’ve been listening to the community's concerns. Considering the frank feedback you’ve provided, through email, surveys, customer support cases, our community messages boards and other forums, a few facts are abundantly clear:

  • You’d prefer a simple, no-surprises flat-rate pricing structure.
  • You don’t want to pay any additional FVFs.
  • You want image hosting included.
  • Your margins are tight.

If you are asking yourself, “Why didn’t they just use this pricing in the beginning?” the answer is that I thought our customers would like to have the choice of picking a tailored plan based on usage. Clearly, I was wrong. All too often, large companies fail to listen to their customers. Auctiva’s brightest future includes the users who brought us this far. I am making this change now so you can get back to doing business. I sincerely hope that this pricing change allows you continue using the tools you have come to depend on.

If you have already chosen a plan and want to switch to one of the new flat rate plans, just go back and choose a new one. If you like the plan you already picked and want to stay on it, we will support that too. If you still only want to use our free marketing tools, that is still available as well. If you would like one-on-one help for any reason, contact our Customer Support team. Thank you for your business, loyalty and understanding.

Sincerely,
Jeff Schlicht
CEO, Auctiva Corporation

Could it be because they are offering a quality product at a reasonable price?

You omitted the key adverb: "now" -- "they are NOW offering a quality product at a reasonable price." A quality product that users perceive as non-competitive and non-affordable isn't viable. Whether out of rationality, fear or whatever, the CEO came to grips with this harsh business reality. I've been beating him over the head on this Board; it's time to stop. His mistake isn't irreparable. I've started reposting on Auctiva; the images are superior to those offered by the kind-hearted competition.

Hey ecl1lxa (and anyone else this might apply to):

If you want to move to the $9.95 monthly rate and reverse the $180 credit, you can do that. Just contact support and they can work it out for you. Not a problem!

Thanks!
Cara

Ugh. I respect auctiva & only left because I had to. It was a huge mistake that should never been made because of the information that is already available to the public, such as ebay's fees and paypal's fees. On the message boards at ebay there is lots of complaining about fees. The competition could have been examined. Auctiva was charging an amount that could have only been interpreted as an attempt to get rid of everybody but the small time sellers. I took this interpretation because I didn't want to assume that Jeff was stupid. I thought there was a method to the madness. So I took the hint and left because I'm not going to stick around where I'm not wanted and being injured financially. I simply cannot afford to pay an upwards of 80 dollars a month to auctiva and pay ebay and paypal fees. Now that I'm getting used to the new system and invested some time in learning it and transferring new listings, I need an incentive to come back. For the frustration, time wasted transferring listings, dashed trust in the company and in humanity in general ("so many big businesses are completely without moral restraint or regard for the welfare of the public, now auctiva?", I thought)The moment I heard the news, my good day was ruined.

Please offer an incentive soon. After JD & Ebay, I love to see a company with a CEO that is interested in the needs of the people who patronize his business rather than using hubris and ignorance. If you offer a free month to at least those of us who have evidently switched over & develop a program that allows us to transfer our listings back to auctiva without copying and pasting, I am so back.

the 180 is a better plan still because if you go over the 1gb you only pay 5.00 for an additioanl 500mb instead of 9.95.

And you do this to me!!!!
You expect me to pay $2.95 a month!!
How dare you!! I'm outa here. Taking my business elsewhere ya greedy bast....
Only kidding. Big Grin
Was going to stay anyway. I can handle three bucks a month no sweat for 15 listings and all the trimmings!
Good stuff.

Again, any chance of locking this $9.95 price, like a competitor has done for 3 years??

Congrats to all who waited it out. It looks like it paid off.

Unfortunately, when your main income is based on eBay sales, I had to make a quick decision. Either I lose time and money waiting for the conclusion of the pricing fiasco, or pack my bags and move on ASAP. I chose to move quick and left Auctiva. I am currently set with my other host so I simply cannot make the transfer back to Auctiva.

All I can say is good luck to the Auctiva community and I respect that a company CEO is so involved and actually LISTENS. It's really too bad the "scare" got in the way of many.

This is great news!

This is exactly what it was going to take for me to stay, and I'm glad I was patient. Although, if it would have been a couple more days, I was gone.

Is this rate locked in?

Also, I still haven't received any email...Any reason why?

Also, if I sign up for the $9.95 plan today, will it start now, or will I still be free until July 1?

Just trying to decide if I should go ahead and sign up or wait until the last second.

Is that $5 per month or period on the flat rate of $180?

Will this pricing apply to all the accounts we have so they are treated as one also?

Hi cmd-sales -

You can safely sign up now and you will not be billed for anything until July.

Hope that helps!
