Hello all i am new to this whole thing so please hehe be nice. what is an Auctiva store? Is it like ebay? is it ebay? how would one open a store on Auctiva? does it cost anything? is there a web page that will tell me about this?
an auctiva store is free. it comes with your account. just click the store tab up top and you'll be able to customize your storefront and store items, and fix up your scrolling store window, which can appear in your listings, if you choose. i personally think the scrolling window is a necessity, as it helps you advertise many items on one auction page!
it is like ebay's store in that it helps to advertise your items, but the only things in your auctiva store are things you have listed on ebay. ebay's store costs money (i think the cheapest is $15ish a month??), but you can have things listed there that aren't for auction, and the listings can last longer than 10 days ( i think up to a month, but i'm not sure). the auctiva store is not part of ebay.
if you have a scrolling store window in your auction listings, there is a link on it that leads to your auctiva store. it's free, so go ahead and jazz it up and have fun with it! good luck, hope this helps!

well ebay store is better as your insertion fees are lower, and although auctiva store is free you still have to pay for the high insertion fee on ebay. How it works is on sign up they ask you to generate a eBay token, this allows auctiva to access your account and post item, as well as mointer items that you posted with SYI for you, in your Auctiva store, and store window. Auctiva store is a great way to advertise, but it's no subsitute for eBay store. Just wait until your first invoice comes. Free but with a heavy price to pay.
I just started checking this store thing. Am I correct in that only active listings on ebay (whether auction, BIN, or ebay store) are what goes into the Auctiva Store? So when an auction ends, let's say, it also disappears from your Auctiva store?
I'm asking because I'm looking for an alternative for the items that don't sell after 2-4 passes through the auction machine at ebay, to keep them available either instead of relisting, or until such time as I try a relisting on ebay. I just checked a saved listing of one I'd put up as an auction twice already, and the only posting options seem to be to put it on ebay in one of the three forms.
Sorry, just read your first question and the answer is yes. There must be active listings on eBay, either auctions, or store, in order to have anything show in your Auctiva store.
It does not keep items that do not sell when the auction closes.
Blessings,
BroJames

Hi, I'm new, and had some questions on this line too. From what I'm reading here, it seems to me that the best way to go if you want to get the ebay storefront prices for multiple (long-lasting) listings, and save money on your regular listings, would be to have the ebay store, and list your single listings through Auctiva.
For instance, I have books I'd like to list in bulk on the storefront, where a slower rate of turnover would be acceptable, and a line of jewelry that would pull higher prices and have a faster turnover, which I might list on the regular auctions. Does anyone else do this? What would you recommend?
And can we still take advantage of the Auctiva savings on pics & stuff in our storefront listings? I'm looking at which way to go with this right now, so I appreciate your input.

Hi, my preference is to create and schedule all listings via Auctiva, and have the basic eBay stores subscription to allow use of their store inventory format. Best of both

Thanks for your input: I appreciate it. If you list first with Auctiva, can you still get the storefront lower listing prices from ebay? I'm not sure exactly how that would work...?

Thanks! That was a clear and easy to understand answer to a question I've been looking through the forum for. I appreciate your help, since I'm getting ready to invest in an ebay store. Makes understanding how ebay & auctiva work together a whole lot easier!

No you do not need an ebay store to run Auctiva, I use it for every auction and I don't have an ebay store.
Auctiva is basically a listing enhancement, allowing you to add templates and pictures to your auctions without having to pay ebays extortionate fees.
Also the Auctiva store is basically a version of "sellers other items" that you can spruce up by adding a logo and template, a bit about yourself, add in custom searches etc.
hi thanks so i dont need to have an ebay store thats good how do u mean its basically a version of "sellers other items"?? also can everyone use the inventory system to keep check on stock levels
sorry also do i not list in ebay from now on ? just use auctiva sign in and list? or can ii stil use ebay to list ?? or is there no need to ? i havent yet got me token so still makin me mind up.
can you still see all your listing as in ebay whats sold and not sold etc. it seems a cross between ebid and ebay. can you list till sold or auto repost ? oh and can you have items in a store and at aution at same time phew see u tommorrow

You can list from both auctiva and ebay, but auctiva is easier and better as you can save listings to relist again later, use free templates, free photo hosting, and even make profiles for your check out, shipping, item descriptions etc.
You can still use "my ebay" to see all your listings, they will also be visable on Auctiva as Activa and Closed. You can set up inventory and let the inventory know what stock you use, then set up Auctiva to relist until you're out of stock.
The Auctiva store does not hold items that are not in auction, thats what I mean by its basically a glorified "view sellers other items"
It will automatically list every item you post to auction or Buy it Now to your store, where you can choose a template, add a logo etc.
I don't know what Ebid is, but Auctiva is a listing enhancement for ebay, all listing posted from here will go on ebay, and likewise all listings posted from ebay will be collect by Auctiva (through your token) and appear on your account here. Auctiva is not an auction site, it makes life with ebay a lot easier
when i finally decide to go over to auctiva do i have to relist everything that i have on ebay at present on to auctiva? all from scrach again or will my items that i have on ebay at present automatically be listed on auctiva?

same as if you list something on ebay, or hit relist on ebay, Auctiva will "find" it after a short time and import it into your active listings here.
One other thing, that I wasnt aware of when I signed up, was Sellathon.
You get free 30 day trial there when you sign up fAuctiva. its a great little site for knowing what people are searching for when they find yr auction, and how they find it (through auctiva, through cross promotions, sellers other items, scrolling gallery etc) Only came across it a few days ago. wish i'd known about it from the start
(although with me Auctiva could have put up a big banner with free 30 day trial in flashing letters the size of my screen and I still would have missed it)
