The Promote Your Store information on Auctiva says that you can link your store to your web site, list the URL in your item description, etc. etc. etc. Then I see horror stories of Ebay taking listing off the site if there links are included! What is the deal??
Thanks, Suki

Ebay certainly can and will remove your listings if you have any links in them that do not direct the buyer back to ebay.

I know eBay is a stickler when it comes to links. BUT...Auctiva was built around eBay and if I'm not mistaken, Auctiva was created by eBay powersellers. They keep up with the rules, so as far as adding your store, I would think it's ok since they told you that. (I also read that)

The way I took it was, if you have a website (not an eBay store), then put your link on there.

Again, I don't think Auctiva would give us information that would get our account taken away or suspended on eBay.

Good luck Wink

Hi Community,

It is actually permissible to add links to your Auctiva store to your auction descriptions because your Auctiva store ONLY displays your items that are active on eBay at any given time. While I have heard a few (3 or 4) stories of eBay removing a seller's listings because of the presence of a link to an Auctiva store with a custom domain, in those cases, the listings were erroneously removed by eBay because the employee who removed them did not properly explore the content of the link and assumed it was a link to a non-permissible website.

Ebay has actually ended up acknowledging the error in each of the situations I have spoken to customers about, although it did require a fair amount of follow up in one or two of those cases. If you are not already familiar with eBay's "Links Policy", I recommend reading up on it by going to the following page of eBay's help index: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links.html

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our customer support team by completing the web form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx

Thanks for your help and explanation on Ebay policies on links. I do not put a link in the descriptions of the item for sale back to my web site - I do have a link from my web site back to my Auctiva Store. And, the only things in the Auctiva Store are items lised on Ebay. Best I can tell from the Ebay policies, this is acceptable.
Anyway, I hope so.....I do appreciate you help. If you think I could get in trouble with this just let me know.

First, I need to figure out HOW to set up an Auctiva store!

But when I do, and I post a link onto my Myspace page and IF I get a buyer from my Myspace to my Auctiva store, does eBay get commission, etc? Or is it my straight sale?

Thanks again for all your hard work, Auctiva! I hope one day you all will be multi-millionaires!

Hello, I am far from an expert on this, probably don't know a darn thing, but I think everything in your Auctive Store has to be an Ebay auction, direct buy, etc. or they will kick it out. Auctiva is simply a better, easier and more reasonable way of listing and managing your items on Ebay. That is my best understanding. Someone who knows more might give you a better understanding.

Hi. I'm confused. I already have an ebay store. What is the benefit of opening up an auctiva domain name? Will it put my store on the web and link it to ebay? Can someone help...I'm totally confused.

Is there a way of getting the ebay store link to point to my auctiva store rather than my ebay shop.I have linked the auctiva store from my website but if anyone looking at an item clicks view shop they get the ebay shop which is pretty bland in comparison.

Hey is there anyway to add items to my Auctiva store without running the on ebay so when people check out my store they can see item other than what I have listed. Is it done through the inventory tab of my account page? Mike

Yes there is you can have both a link to your ebay store by use the insert a link drop down thingy and a link to your Auctiva store by using the add link button when your in your Auctiva description page when your first setting up your auction just copy the url to your Auctiva store and paste it in the little window that ask for the url when you click the button. Hope this helps. Mike
