The current Auctiva stores are for ebay only items, and that's in keeping with eBay policy which requires that off-ebay links to stores can ONLY have ebay items.
Auctiva is working toward eComm Stores (different concept), where you could place any item for sale Off-eBay. Linkage to it will be limited (defintitley not directly from eBay), but there are ways for customers to find it (Google search, etc.).

Oh...and the open policy issue is whether you can link your Auctiva ebay Store to a future eComm store with Off-eBay items. Technically, your not posting a link on eBay.

When do you think Auctiva will have the eComm setup going ?
The Auctiva folks keep pointing to "Fall 2008". There's been mention of that occuring to support XMas sales. That would imply no later than October, but I've seen no official annoucements and can only speculate.

The value of the $6.95 domain purchase is that you can make it something easy to remember, quick to type, cool to put on a business card, etc. You can promote your store by setting up MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo, and many free blog sites and listing your store url there. Big difference between http://stores.ebay.com/Purrfrees-goodeye-goodbuy and www.PurrFREE.com right?
