I'm sure this has come up often so hopefully there are instructions readily available I can be linked to...
I want to control the location of the various types of scrolling galleries in item descriptions for eBay by inserting the code myself. Furthermore, in some I may want to use vertical, in some horizontal, etc. and I want to accomplish this without using Auctiva's listing templates.
I have the skill to determine where in my own HTML templates I would put the code so that aspect is not an issue. The difficulty I am encountering is obtaining the code for the various types of galleries without having turned on the automatic insert feature. Particularly it seems I risk having my existing listings on eBay instantly appended to by Auctiva because it seems necessary to turn on the "store window" to be able to change from one gallery type to another and so gain access to the code for that type.
In order to prevent the Auctiva scrolling gallery from being added to your listings, you just need to click the "Account Settings" link in the "My Account" tab within your account, select "No" from the drop-down menu next to "Append Auctiva Scrolling Gallery to my listings", and click the "Update Account Preferences" button below.
Regardless of whether the automatic insert setting is turned on or off, you can obtain the scrolling gallery HTML for any of the various scrolling gallery versions by choosing the desired version from the "Edit Scrolling Gallery" section of your account and then clicking the "Scrolling Gallery HTML" link under the "Store" tab.

I have selected "No" from the drop-down menu next to "Append Auctiva Scrolling Gallery to my listings", and saved that setting. After having done so, I click on the Store tab, then on Scrolling Gallery. In the top area of that page a message appears:
Error Your store window is currently DISABLED! You will be unable to save changes on this page until you re-enable your store window in your account preferences.
As the message states, down at the bottom of the page the Save button is disabled. I can not save any changes I make to the gallery type, colors, etc.
In turn, what is saved from that page determines what HTML is available when I click on the Store tab and the Scrolling Gallery HTML link in that page.
In effect, I am unable to get HTML code for any other type of gallery I may want to use without having turned on automatic insertions.
My fear is however briefly I need to turn on automatic insertions to quickly change the gallery type then go back and turn it off again may be long enough for Auctiva to have gone ahead and make insertions.
Thanks for the clarification. I did not realize that it was not possible to save the settings in the "Edit Scrolling Gallery" section when the automatic insertion feature is disabled. I'll bring that up with our development team and see if that is something we may be able to change with a future site update.
I'll send you an email shortly and, if you reply to that email with the different scrolling gallery styles you are looking to use, I'll hook you up with the HTML code you would need to use to create each of those scrolling gallery styles without enabling the auto-append setting in your account. As long as you don't need to get into the colors, it shouldn't be too hard to communicate.

I have been having some of these issues, though I didn't have to do the whole revoke token / re-enable thing on Ebay. I already had my gallery set up the way I wanted it (colours, style etc). All I was trying to do was change the position of the scroller so it was in the middle of my text.
The issue I had with this is that the code provided doesn't work - it produced a very pretty pattern but no images.
I got around this by cutting & pasting the html directly from a listing that was working and inserting that into my template.
At first that didn't work either - then I saw this thread and selected "No" from the drop-down menu next to "Append Auctiva Scrolling Gallery to my listings" - all good now :-D
