I went ahead and bought a domain name for my Auctiva store but now I don't know what good that will do me. I don't usually post anywhere (I am more of a lurker than a participant) so putting a link in a signature wouldn't be very helpful. What else can I do to drive traffic to my store?

Hi Shadeaux: This may sound stupid to you, but I know little to nothing about domains, especially with Auctiva. I am thinking of purchasing a domain but want to know if it would do me any good and whether I would have a new (if desired) email address. Here is my domain name which Auctiva created. (I'm still working on it) http://store.auctiva.com/tonisclassics

I would love it if it were tonisclassics@whatever my domain name is......or vice versa? LOL Sorry! I just know nothing!! But we all have to begin somewhere, right? Back in 1992 I thought a floppy disk was just that... floppy and foldable! Big Grin So you see? I've "come a long way, baby!" Smile

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me! Smile

Thanks for your replies. I didn't put it here yet because I am not quite ready for that. I was just wondering (when I am ready) if there is anything else I can do to promote my store. btw, I also set up a crater store since I read so many posts about it but I haven't stocked it yet. I have mainly been working on the design of both stores and haven't really put much time yet into listings.

Hi toonew. Smile
Personally I think domain(s) are very cost effective - you can purchase one for less than $10 per year and point it anywhere you'd like from the back office.

I looked up your tonisclassics, which is available, not that it's what you want for your domain. Something you can find with keywords for what you sell is ideal, though as Choo says creativity is required. Wink

Put on your creativity cap and start searching. I go to NameCheap just because that's who I've always used, am familiar with their back office and I really like them. Seems lotsa folks go with GoDaddy for some reason. NameCheap is just my personal preference and it's also where I look up for available domains.

Floppy disk... by the time I knew what they really were, they were almost obsolete. Big Grin So you're not alone! Razz Ask away, ok? I'll be most happy to answer what I can or help ya find th' answer so I can learn too. Smile

Hi. When you log into your account, the tools and options for settings you find are in your 'back office'. Smile
