Please please, I am about to take poison, if someone can't help me. I just spent 10 hours inputting relists and things to go off for 3 weeks in advance. All of a sudden the program totally crashed and I got Error in main form load error in subscript out of range 9 line5. and my ENTIRE SPREADSHEET IS EMPTY!! Yeppers gone every single bit of data ever put in there is gone! Now I do back up every single day, but it isn't the end of the day so I haven't backed up that 10 hours of work, that actually is very hard to backtrack on as some things are in warehouse, yada yada. Please help anyway of recovering the stuff from today without doing restore backup which is yesterdays stuff and I will lose everything? FREAKING!

Did you refresh the data at any point during this whole 10 hours of work? If so you can restore the auto back up which is what is made after a refresh. I do things in groups of 10 or so now, write over the old back up everytime, saves the headache.

The entire program is currupt can't open anything, even after restore, it has that same error message on the bottom and totally crashes if I do anything. This is a nightmare beyond nightmare.

Can you go into the directory and copy the data files then uninstall and reinstall? The best way to do it is to just rename the Auctiva folder to something like "Old messed up Auctiva" of whatever seems to fit. Then reinstall and the installation program will write a new Auctiva folder. Then you can try copying the data files or the backup from the old to the new.

Good luck and lay offa the poison

One clue to me might be the "back up everyday" if you do this there is a lot of information there. Maybe there is just to much to process. How often do you delete the old back up? I would try that I think. The other thing to try, other than the suggestions already here which are good, shut everything down, press crtl+alt+del keys and close anything running until it is all closed, nothing on the list, then run scandisk, reboot, see what happens. I will keep checking here tonight to see if there is any progress. It is a nightmare, I have had them and they are no fun.

I have shortcuts on my desktop that makes it easy to archive the entire ebud folder daily. I just copy the entire folder to a backup folder as well as to a disc. I got burned once and that taught me good.

Here is what happened and maybe will save others from this. I do back up every single day and save on disc, but this situation turned out to be one of a kind. Also remember I did my input all day long and it wasn't time for backup at the end of the day yet, of course I did a save but here's the dirt......... Thanks to Miles working feverishly to find out what caused it. I narrowed it down to the status list. What happened is that the previous person that started this program, only allowed 100 new statuse's in the status field. Well, I put in #101 and it completely corrupted the entire program, yep, just a little thing like that and poofo! So be warned if you have a lot of statuses you better be careful not to go over 100.

Let me get this straight, you had 100 different things you could put in the status column, the one that says, relisted, congrats sent, feedback left, etc.? The 101th was the straw that broke ebuds back?

It is the coolest most awesome way to put different codes and such to sort things by! I do it for inventory, customer codes all kinds of stuff, you don't have to just have the formletter status in there you can add whatever you want. it is a fabulous organizational tool! But I guess 100 will be the tops for now!

Once the limit was recognized, what steps were taken to recover the grid?

deleting statuses from the status.lst file while eBud was closed and then running eBud again.

A way needs to be added to allow users to delete statuses from within the program.

The next release will either not have a limit on the statuses or it will prevent you from entering over 100
