hi there, I don't think it lets you save it that way from the program unfortunately at this time.
You can, however, move it manually from C:\Program Files\Auctiva\eBud\profilename\backup to where you want it
miles
P.S. The next version of eBud which might be released tonight saves the data in a different format. It takes about 30 times less space than the current format and will be a comma delimeted file. The actual layout of the grid will be built when the program loads the data, as opposed to the data being stored with the information about the grid. This will provide extra protection against data corruption and will also be backwards compatible with old versions of eBud. And of course, using up less space is great.
Will be a good thing

Miles: We also have to take this route to delete old backups, it would be great to be able to do that automatically. I know it will overwrite each time if I name it something like last.dat or some such but it would be better to have it date stamped.

Hi, Yesterday morning I got a lock up and when I tried to re-open and run 307.d only 3 records show up, all of my records seem to be gone. I tried to use the "restore backup" but nothing at all happens. Am I missing a step?
I am fairly new (one week) to using the 3.07d, was using Auctiva manager up till now. I was going to write about "runtime error 62" appearing anytime I tried to edit email formats, and then the whole program winking out. I would like some help with that as well, but that question is academic if I cannot get the records and work to restore.
Thanks for your help in advance and we hope to hear from you ASAP.
Best regards, Karen

Did you highlight the backup you wanted to restore? and double click? It should work.
A couple of days ago I had a problem with ebud and here's what I did to get it back up to par: First I archived the whole ebud folder by copying it to a seperate folder and renaming it. I left the original ebud folder intact and went to the auctiva website and downloaded 3.06 and installed it. It overwrote the corrupted files and kept all of my information intact. I then let it update back to 3.07d. Presto! in less than 5 minutes I was back in business. Try it.

Hi, Pestycat,
Thanks for your suggestions.
No, backup did not work.
If I were to download 3.06 again without "archiving" (how do you do that?) what I have up now, and then updating, what do you think would happen? Because...
I don't understand what you mean by archiving. I do not know how to copy and save the ebud file to another place, either. If you can tell me how to archive without too much trouble, I think that your idea would work. I do know how to rename things, and put them in other folders.
I went to windows explorer and under "properties" I found "archive", I checked it, expecting it to give me a chance to re-name the files but it did not give me such an option.
I am so confused and tired of trying to work with bringing all back that I am wondering if there is a way to import the 3.07d records that I have added to 3.07d to my old 2.89 system.
How quickly does support reply to a support question usually? I look every day for a reply, no luck yet.
Thanks for your ideas, they seem like they might work.
Best regards, Karen

Maybe I made it sound complicated by calling it archiving, All you really need to do is to copy the ebud folder which is in the Auctiva directory. to a new folder. You can name the new folder anything you want and can leave it in the Auctiva directory. That way you have 2 folders named ebud, the one you just copied to the new folder and the original one. Then just download and set up 3.06. it will overwrite the files in the original ebud folder and will leave your data intact. Be sure to update it even though it will say 3.07d. still do the update.
