Somehow, a totally different customer name & address got put into an auction she did not win. And guess where the real buyer's plate is? Japan!
Here's the scenario:
Buyer 1. Has an APO address and she is stationed in Japan. She wins an auction on 4/16, pays on 4/17 via Paypal and I shipped on 4/18. Status is item shipped.
Buyer 2. Wins on 4/16, pays on 4/25 via check, and I shipped on 4/26. Except I shipped to the wrong person! Buyer 1 never bid on this, so that wasn't the glitch. But somehow, her addy got put in.
Did I use the data card? I don't know. I had 10+ shipments that day or I may have caught this because I have to do different labels & a customs form for APO addresses.
Does anyone know what causes this to happen?

I am so sorry it happened to you. I am one of the others that it has happened to, and I soooooo sympathize! Someone just recently posted that only 2 others have had this problem, and didn't know the circumstances, of it. Well here we have it again, not in our minds now is it? There has never been any kind of explaination that I know of yet. I sure hope that eventually there will be!! I hope your customers are understanding. If you need any help with them let me know, so I can vouch for you if needed!
Good luck Cindy!!

I know how it happened! The problem has been corrected in the updates. Here it is: Before it was fixed, if you had a data card open and an address entered and you clicked on another auction while the data card was still open, the information got mixed up. After the update you can no longer open a listing when a data card is open. This was a bug for sure but hopefully it's fixed now.
If you only ever have 1 mixed up shipment count yourself lucky. No matter how careful you are or what program you use, the odds are that once in awhile there will be a mix up. I have very few of them and have learned to accept it as part of the job, and it doesn't mess my day up like the first one did.

Thanks Cool for the support.
Pesty do you know which update this changed on? Because I have been running the latest ones as they happen. Sometime between 4/16 and 4/25 this occurred.
I have been staying away from the data card because I thought that was the problem.
On a less hectic day I probably would have caught this.

They fixed it in 3.07d which was released last Friday evening the 26th. I know because I messed up several addresses because I had a card open and didn't realize it. I'm using xp and it hides open applications so it was easy to do. Now when a data card is open the spreadsheet is locked.

pesty's right, it was possible for this to happen if you clieked on another row while the datacard was open and then closed the datacard.
This was fixed recently. Remember that you can add the addresses by double clicking on the checkbox.
I'm terribly sorry to hear that you sent the item to the wrong location
