Hello Auctiva!

Seems like I have a big problem here at hand. Just recently, ebud dumped all of my last year's data. Yes, that's right close to 16000 records. Puff and gone. Now, again it reduced my data from 1800 to 1500 records. Puff and gone.

What is going on? Has anyoneelse had this issue? Is there any way to retrieve the data?

Any help is truly appreciated!

You can go to the last auto backup by going to file>restore backup and find the last date, closest to todays date or the one before the dumping occured.

I have had several unusual things happen in ebud lately and although I've had fairly good luck with the program so far, I have had to backtrack several times to retrieve my data. As a result I have begun to back up after entering any data and copy my ebud.dat file and address folder frequently.

HELP!!!! yes... Ebud is again losing our data.... it's been doing that for about 6 months now..maybe longer. Hard to keep accurate records! So far no one has helped me with this situation...even after emails & bulletin posts...thinking about switching to Ebay's manager...has anyone tried that program yet?

I tried it. I honestly did. I worked at it for about 10 hours all together in spurts. In all that time I could not find where the option to send out an email is. Very confusing set up to me and I will not use it unless I have to.

Thank you for all the replies. Surely, backing up is fine but it will not help with the data you have entered since the last back up. As a result it is a big mess. I lost the first batch completely because I am erasing some of the older back-ups and did not catch the dump in time.

Is this issue being addressed by Auctiva? Looks like other users are having the same issue from time to time. Data safety must be number one priority. A real mess! I have been using this program for a couple years now and have lost about one years worth of data. This is completely unacceptable and should be adressed.

Surely, I may have to look for some other means of storing my data and it won't be Auctiva related. Too many problems. Ebay is sending around a newsletter for their program advertising exactly the benefits of easy data access for taxes, etc. Maybe they have heard about the pain with other programs loosing data...

Perhaps Auctiva is for the casual user only....

This an EBAY issue folks - the boards have said this so many times . . . . all you have to do apparently is hang out on your sellers page and it happens there - and then ebud gets it from your seller's list. NOT AUCTIVA! Auctiva's had loads of its own problems lately - let's at least not blame them for problems that aren't theirs to fix!

Some of you powersellers - you who actually have some clout w/ebay - maybe you could hassle EBAY about the problem??!!! They don't seem to listen to us ordinary folks. And this is a problem for several weeks now from my recollection. What are they doing about it? Can't be good for their business to have auctions "not there" for bidding in the last 1/2 hour (which is when most folks bid). --Melanie

I have contacted ebay numerous times and finally got them to acknowledge that they have a problem and it has been turned over to their computer gurus. I sent them my complete seller page showing items that were running with 3-4-5 days remaining showing an ending time of a few seconds to a few minutes all up and down the board. They DEFINATELY have a problem and they acknowledged it after I sent my seller pages. It's no wonder ebud is showing items as closed as it is the times showing on the ebay pages. BF

Ebud is losing data....it is NOT an Ebay problem...my sellers page on Ebay is showing all the auctions that have ended.... Ebud is not... It is erasing random auctions...The only way I found about it is when someone pays for there auction..I go into Ebud to makenote of it....but it's GONE! disappeared ....POOF! I don't even know about all of the other auctions it has erased. How do I send out NPB's to the deadbeat bidders if their auctions are missing from Ebud?

I understand what you are saying and am not saying you do not have a problem. From what I can tell it seem to be isolated to a few users. I am not saying it is not happening, it is just that it does not happen to me and therefore I can'not offer any help. Also I cannot understand why auctions are disappearing?? That is certainly weird. Is you status set to show ALL ITEMS or is it set for a particular function?? BF

We print every sold auction on a index card, for backup. Then i file them by dollar amount.[easy to find when someone pays] Then i take them to shipping room to pull orders . then i write when shipped on index card. They do not take up much room , easy to file, and is like shuffeling playing cards when you are looking for something..
So between auctiva and index cards you cannot go wrong..
