Hi all!
Does anyone use the Rustic Red Theme? I like it, but It doesn't look right at the bottom of the page, it's like it's starting another page but it's only about an inch high.

FYI, its: mymainenature.com

Also, does anyone know how to make a logo background transparent? I made the logo in Photoshop but I can't figure out how to have the background blend into the top design of the theme.

One more thing, how do you make your item offerings equal in size. When you look at the items the "boxes" are all different sizes.

Thanks--Happy Mother's Day!

To make the background transparent the layer has to have an alpha channel. Then the color can be cut out or erased.

I worked on someone's store with this theme today and the header section worked out really great. I will let the store owner announce their store when they are ready.

To make the featured products more equal in size - highlight the whole [[conlib featured product code, change the font to medium. Then if they still are not equally sized enough try making the names of the products similar in length.

On the footer did you do a custom footer, or use the customize links button? I used the customize links button and didn't have that problem with the footer.

WOW!!! 1st, thanks for such a quick helpful reply! I have SOOOO much to learn!!!
1) how does a layer get an alpha channel?
2) WOW again! You're site is nice! And you have so many clever ideas! How did you come up with the live support & how does it work?
3)I like your "what makes us different" section.
4) You've had 7000 visitors???? How long have you been on auctiva? Can I ask how sales have been?
5) You've copyrighted your website? Is it expensive. I started to look into it but haven't gotten very far, not for the website but for our pictures.
6) I like how you explained the payment options while still really using PayPal but pointing out people don't have to have an account, etc.
7) The overall feel of your site is friendly & warm yet professional
8) How did you set up the "Our Partners" page? I tried to set up some general affiliations but I couldn't get anything but text links to work & I think they're somewhat hidden and won't be found very easily.
9) I like how thorough your section on shipping is (more work I need to do Smile
10) How did you come up with your Privacy Policy?

Guess I got carried away Big Grin

All I can say is WOW!

I don't have any brain cells left tonight for detailed instructions.

1) I will have to tell you when I have brain cells - or someone else can explain it.

2)Thank you. My online chat solution free from onlinechatcenters.com. Many other people use a free online chat service from Volusion.com. We find these things on the forums. One of us will find a useful widget, bolt, logo etc, then we all run and get one. Then we stop to think does it make sense for my store. I learned by asking questions and looking at other peoples's stores. Can't explain how to use now or even find the thread. (anybody else want to take this one?)

3)Thank you. Something remained from my marketing class up there in the synapses. Occasionally stuff comes out and I sound like I know something. I am having to work hard to put those things into practice. This site is certainly practice.

4)Yes(since I have posted a lot on the forums many people check out my site), since January, since I started selling Auctiva set-up and design services sales have been great. To get my books in the store I need CSV functionality that we don't have yet. And even then it will be slow for me to list.

5) I did? Auctiva has a copyright thing on the bottom of the page but it is for their content. I saw tonight that we have a few lawyers amongst us that can probably answer the copyright question much better than I. I do know there is such a thing as "a poor man's copyright". If I have a copyright on my site other than an Auctiva copyright then it falls under more as a deterrent to show that it is copyrighted and isn't formally filed. But if the material is something you truly want to protect then you should consider looking into the cost and making an educated decision on whether it is worth it to you to do so or not.

6)Thank you

3) oops did that one already
7)Thanks. I did a lot in a corporate environment so I guess I have had a lot of exposure.

8)One of our forum members created You-tube instructions. I started a guide to try to keep track of the instructions and good ideas etc. Here is a link - I believe I have the links to the videos in there. http://community.auctiva.com/e...511099313/m/47510367

9) Some people like it, some say it is too much. Those who want to know will read it. Those who don't care won't. I'll be prepared either way.

10) freeprivacypolicy.com

And with that - I am putting the noggin to bed.
Goodnight all!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Michelle! Sorry I got carried away so late at night! I've been spending toooo many hours trying to get at least the basics going! You're so kind to be so helpful! I finally got the bottom of the page figured out and as usual it was simple--just putting in a page break---DUH!

The main thing for today is to figure out how to fix the logo and to figure out how to "Verify" with google. But after 5 days glued to this computer drowning in stuff (and 5 days of rain) I'm going outside in the sun to play in the dirt for a while!
