April1212, We are planning on pushing the product live in the latter part of January '09.
leok, There could be times when the admin site will go offline but the storefront should never go down. Your products should always be available for purchase by your customers.

A couple of you have expressed that you feel the options and variants part of inventory is difficult to use. I'd like to hear more about this. I've used this on my own store and I think it's one of the most powerful features we offer in Auctiva Commerce. I'm hoping we just need to provide more documentation and tutorials. Please advise.

I sell one item with multiple weights so who wants to create a seperate inventory for each.
Templates are way bright for my taste and appear odd to everyone thats seen them.
Not sure if I would pay for this as it is in demo stage so I would be glad to see this being more user friendly.
I use edirecthost now and it is simple but no varients like bisi. Infact I would go to bisi if it wasnt buggy and had better templates.
Anyways hope this improves as I am interested. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion to go to bisi. I like what they are doing in several areas. The site is clean and simple. I agree that the way they do variants is very simple to use. The problem I saw is that it is too simple. For example, I created an inventory item for a shirt. It was very easy for me to create variants. I created choices for a small, medium, and large shirt. Then I was stuck when I wanted to add an option for color. They don't allow for multiple drop downs. With Auctiva Commerce this would be possible. We give you the ability to add up to 8 different drop downs. I could create a color drop down and a size drop down. For each permutation we give you the ability to track inventory quantities, have different prices and shipping weights. You can have a base price and then add or subtract to it. Or you can set the price explicitly for each permutation. The swatches allow you to have a different product image displayed when they select from the different variants. So when I select the blue shirt from the drop down the image of the blue shirt replaces the default product image. I agree we have work to do in order to make it easier to understand. I would love to hear of any platform out there that does what ours can do. At the same time, I will only be happy with the power we built into our options and variants if lots of people use it. I think a good video tutorial would really help people with this.

Thats a good start... though Ebay, Amazon and pretty much any other significant website I can think of aims to be online all the time. Offline admin is so 1990 More importantly I would really really like to see my Auctiva store available to customers 24/7. The current scheduled maintenance is Friday evening Aussie time, definitely not a good time to be offline. I'm in Melbourne which has the same time zone (Eastern Standarrd Time) as Sydney & Brisbane which is where most Aussies live. Perhaps in the interim maintenance for international sites could be scheduled for a quiet time such as 2am-6am Tuesday EST local time..... that would really help.

Hi, I sell used books on eBay Australia. I have been using Auctiva for all my eBay listings and I'm very excited about Auctiva Commerce. My wish list: 1. I would love to be able to have an ISBN lookup on the listing template that automatically populates the item details. I know this is available on Auctiva's template for lising in a books category for eBay in the US but it is not in eBay Australia for some reason. 2. It would be great if there were a link to Australia Post's postage calculator http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/3. Re emails: I would love an integrated autoresponder so that I can send a store newsletter to all my customers who have opted in to receive them. 4. The ability to have multiple images and to enlarge the images is very important to my bsiness. I like t let people see exactly what they are buying! I've only just started playing around here so I will probably add more in due course! Thank you for setting up this wonderful resource.

The majority or all of eBay's books/music/movies prefilled item data comes from a company called Muze. We'd have to pay them to license the data. I'm not sure what the cost on something like that would be. We were talking to them about doing it in 2001 or around then but then eBay bought Half.com and it made no sense to do it since we figured they'd be doing it. If we had enough sellers in those categories and could make enough from it to justify the cost then I'd consider doing it. We'll have to play it by ear and see how things go in these categories. We do have some postage calculators for the US, but I don't think AU. We've discussed what we're going to do about supporting postage calculators for other countries and they won't be in the first release but we're going to try and add them to a later release for Canada, UK, and Australia because those are 3 sites that we support in our eBay Lister page and have a decent number of sellers using. I'm not sure how complicated a programming task this will be so I'm not sure on a timeframe.

This thread is getting a bit long. I'm going to close it and make it a sticky thread at the top. I'd like to see some new threads created with just one topic per thread so we can stimulate more discussion and get more feedback on a per topic basis.
