... that everything shows in $, no matter what the seller's currecy is. And, I'm not talking about the seller's price converted to $, it's just the $ symbol in place of €, £ or any other currency symbol in front of the numerals.

As if this had not been raised months ago.

Morning George,
I was looking at a cute little baby boutique item and it was not listed in $. I believe it was in Euros.

That's funny because I saw my items priced in euro a few days ago and thought that everything was fixed. I was ready to post and thank Auctiva for the fix but checked again before doing so and, everything was back to $ (I'm really not sure that I didn't see the € in my dreams).

I don't know when you saw the item in € but I did check again a couple of minutes ago and everything is in $.

I'll see what we can do. The items should probably show in their default currency.

Thanks for your reply Jeff. I know that items should show in their default currency but whoever designed the Shop doesn't probably agree with this idea.

The quoted text below is from my post of March 4th. More than two months after that, nothing has changed. Please enjoy

I hadn't even noticed the link

http://www.auctivacommerce.com/shop.aspx

until I saw it in Tom's reply. I had a look to that Mall and I'll tell you an amusing story now:

A seller from the UK, another from Japan, a third from Indonesia, a fourth from India and myself, all have the Blu-ray film "50 First Dates" in our stores. We notice that the CEOstore has the same film priced at $ 11.95 and decide to offer it at the same price -not cheaper, not more expensive.

So, the guy from UK lists it for GBP 8.47, the Japanese for JPY 1187, the Indonesian for IDR 144265, the Indian for INR 644.52 and me for EUR 9.52 - fair play, we all have the same price (all conversions at today's exchange rates of the European Central Bank).

A customer, or a fellow store owner, is in desperate need to buy this film as a gift to his wife for her birthday. He visits the Mall and does a search. He is glad to see that this is available by six sellers and thinks that one of them will have a better price than the others.

So, he looks at the prices and sees that the CEO sells it for $ 11.95, the UK seller for $ 8.47, the Japanese for $ 1187.00, the Indonesian for $ 144265.00, the Indian for $ 644.52 and I sell it for $ 9.52 -that's when he starts running away from total madness.

Actually, everything changed. Except the currency.

We need to get better about thinking about international. I think as we meet and work on new features and so on that each of the managers working in their respective specialties needs to be asking "What about international?" From the start so this sort of thing doesn't happen any more.

Yes please, Jeff!
My items, when I did a search, showed up in dollars too. Not good!
There's a lot of frustration among international sellers and some have already left AucCom. I fear that there will be many more once you start charging, unless these problems have been resolved.
