I currently sell on eBay UK (bronze Power Seller) with a few private customers I deal with direct. I sell music-related items and have an eBay shop. Much of what is in the shop is low value and slow-moving, but does sell ..... eventually! This is what I plan to do with my Auctiva store.
(1) Close my eBay shop and transfer the lot to Auctiva. (2) Put a load of 'new' items into Auctiva. (3) Email all my customers from eBay (not using the eBay email system of course), telling them about my Auctiva store and offering some form of incentive. Probably a percentage discount. I've got their email addresses as I've kept the Paypal emails. (4) Continue to auction high value items on eBay and when they sell, send the customer an email telling them about the Auctiva store. (5) Put a link to my eBay About Me page in Auctiva, so customers can look at my eBay feedback and hopefully bid on the higher-end stuff. (6) Keep an eye out for Auctiva marketing tools.
My short-term goal is to keep my existing customers but wean them off eBay - many have said that they spend too much time on eBay anyway. Who knows long-term? I don't do this full-time and just really want to minimize my dealings with eBay ... you all know why!
