I have just started using Auctiva and love the look! I have 3 ads currently running. I edited 2 of the ads descriptions using the instructions given by Auctiva support. Now my two Ebay auctions look plain jane, one picture. It's like I lost the format I created in Auctiva.
Here are the Ebay Auction #270267924885 & #270267985721.
The third auction has not been touched since I placed it and it looks great! #270267934943.
I am being told to copy the html description and paste it in the ebay ad. This is how the problem started. I tried this on the second one and that is how I messed up #2.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, MJ

Hi,

I looked at all 3. It looks like you may not have copied the correct code.

Did you copy the HTML from the <HTLM> icon for the listing from the main Saved Listings page (look to right in "Actions" column on each for the icon under the Preview icon)?

Also, when you paste the code to eBay's revise listing editor, make sure the editor is in HTML mode. You will need to delete the prior code with the exception of the Scrolling Gallery code. That code has <!--ASW--> comment tags at the beginning and end. Since the two problem listings are minus that code, you can get that code on the Store tab under the Scrolling Gallery example.

OK I found the code and copied it. Now where do I paste it? In the Auctiva edit listing somewhere? Or in the actual ebay listing edit page? I've been going back and forth for about an hour and can't figure out what the instructions mean and what you are telling me. Sorry and thanks. MJ

Hi,

You paste the code to the listing at eBay using the eBay Revise listing editor in HTML mode.

I spoke with Auctiva support - said I should check pop up blocker.
I turned off pop up blocker. I deleted temp internet files and cookies.
I have Road Runner so I turned off all of my security through them.
Still unable to copy the html icon from the listings page under action.
I look at my good ebay listing and check the html code in my description and it looks so different from my other two that are plain jane. I cannot find the code you said I should see in the html description.
No scrolling pictures, not counter, no nothing. Any other suggestions? thanks, MJ

So - to continue. If I get the scrolling html code, where do I paste it - if in the ebay edit window - in the description html? Top or bottom of description. At least maybe more of my pictures will show up. Thanks, MJ

Hi,

When you click on that <HTML> icon on the Saved Listings page, you should get a pop-up box that contains the code. You Select All, and copy the HTML code from that box.

On eBay's Revise listing page, you paste the code into the Description section. Switch the window to HTML mode before you paste. Since you don't have the Scrolling Gallery on the two problem examples, just delete all the text/code present before you paste.

If you want to add the Scrolling Gallery, you can get that code from the Store tab page at Auctiva. Again, you Copy the code from the pop-up window. You can add the Scrolling Gallery HTML code to either the beginning or the end of the Description section.

Thanks again.
My pop up HTML box does not appear. Even after I stopped pop up blockers and all my security. I was able to figure out how to get the scrolling gallery. I finally went in a updated through ebay even though I ended up paying again to add pictures, etc. Grrrr...
I appreciate your help - better than Auctiva support! MJ

Hi,

Hmmmm......

Check your browser security settings and see if you are allowing Javascript.

Edit: Note, I believe Vista with IE7 has Javascript disabled (default). Here's a link to test JavaScript and instructions on how to enable for various browsers. If working, it shows PASSED! at the top.
