I had shipped an Ebay item to my buyer using Paypal shipping w/DC. The item was returned to me as 'address unknown'. The buyer contacted me saying that his tracking number says on USPS.com that it was returned to me. I shipped it a 2nd time. I received it back again, same problem, on Wednesday Dec 5th. I contacted the buyer to let him know. He said it's BS and he threatened to file Ebay and Paypal claims. The address I sent to was Paypal confirmed.
What do I do? He refuses to pay for shipping again. I've lost most profit on the item already. Should I wait and let him file his claims? or can he even file an 'Item not received' claim since Paypal has the tracking info on file? I don't want any trouble or negative feedback, but I don't think I should be responsible for his 'unknown address'. I shipped to a Paypal confirmed address. Am I covered?

forgot to mention, it is sent via Priority mail...$4.60 each time I ship it.

Has the buyer told you this was the correct address? Maybe they moved and forgot to update their contact info?
In any case, I myself wouldn't waste any more time and money on a package that keeps coming back. Since you sent to a confirmed address with DC and as long as you sent it within 7 days, you're covered, but covered for what?? I would just refund the whole thing now and be done with it. You might also try to google the address and see what you get.
Odd situation isn't it I would just apologise and refund.

No. You're DC info must show that it was successfully delivered. He'll file item not received, and because the DC shows the item was not delivered, he will win.

Have you tried calling the buyer's PO to find out what's going on? Address information is ever-changing, so it's possible that something has changed recently, but all of USPS's systems haven't caught up yet. Either way, the buyer's PO is the place that I would start.

There's no reason that this can't end amicably. Contact your buyer and let them know what's going on. Tell them you're going to contact their post office to see if you can resolve the issue. He may not know that there is a problem with his address info, and verifying it with the PO is the only way to find out.

Biscuit is, of course, correct....I on the other hand need more coffee..
