My head is spinning with all the new Ebay changes. The latest one, which they claim will be implemented at the end of 08 or early 09 looks like they're going to eliminate non-Ebay templates, picture hosting, counters and scrolling galleries. In other words, every seller will look alike. They will have tabs for things like shipping, payment etc.

I read it to mean that Auctiva may have to change its templates to fit the new layout. There's still room for a template, but with different display dimensions.

Makes me not want to create tons of listings using the current templates, though!

I love Auctiva and have never used anything else to host my images, and create my listings.

I wonder if eBay is trying to eliminate Auctiva. I sell art, and I would not be able to afford to sell if I didn't have the option to include multiple photos in my listings.

Perhaps eBay wants to get paid for all those images?

And with the advent of Best Match, Auctiva's Store Window becomes even more important. It's the only way for Bidders to find my offerings!

With all these new changes coming, I wish Auctiva would respond to some of those concerns we have.

I would imagine since it is new to them as well, they are figuring out how it will affect them and how to move forward. Give them a break.

nanartchik, You can get all the free pics you want just hosting your own via the html tab on the SYI form or Turbo Lister or any other lister. You don't "need" auctiva for free pics, just an FYI.

I am very curious as to what impact these changes will have on Auctiva and the use of templates or other changes being brought about by ebay.

I really like using Auctiva and hope they can still be useful on ebay and maybe even Auctiva's own ecommerce would be even better!

Yes, well in theory it might. But the message from Ebay's announcement was that anylink or gallery from an outside source would be prohibited. Obviously, because they (Ebay) aren't getting any revenue from it.

I've stumbled upon my auctions twice with the testing tabbed look.

My template was intact both times.

I'm not crazy bout the tabs.

Ebay have postponed the banning of all links.

eBay's banned link policy will only affect sites that promote the sale of non-eBay items. Thus, Auctiva will not be affected.

On the other note, I am not too worried about Auctiva's templates. To my understanding, I would agree with nahoaloha and assume Auctiva just needs to tweak their templates a little bit. I just hope that saved listings will automatically be updated to any new changes made to the templates.
