Hi, I'v only been using auctiva a couple of months, and need some help please.....how do you remove an old template before relisting, i'v been trying for the past hour...please, please can someone help, it's driving me mad.

Hi Angie1956 -

1. Go to your Saved Listings and click to edit the listing you want to relist.

2. When it opens in the one-page lister, go to the template section and click the Remove Template link.

3. Save the listing and go back into your Saved Listings pick the one you just worked on and click the get HTML link. Copy that HTML and take it to eBay where you have relisted your item.

4. Edit that listing in eBay and replace all the HTML with the updated HTML.

Thanks for your help but still no joy!!!!

I'll try to show you step by step why i can't seem to be able to remove an old template from my listing....

1. I locate the listing in my 'Closed' listing folder.

2. I click the box next to the listing, then click 'Import' to send it to my 'Saved' listing folder.

3. Then i click on the listing to send to the 'Create a listing' page so i can change the old template(this is when things go wrong!!!).

4. I roll down to 'Description' and see my old template in with the description.

5. Then i roll down to 'Template' and it says 'SELECT A TEMPLATE' thats all. I have tryed to do this but only get the new template over the old template!!!

Please, Please can you help....i'm gradually going bald from pulling all my hair out and my poor santa stress ball has been bounced off my walls that many times......

Did you not already have this listing in any of your saved listings on auctiva, so you don't need to import it?

I believe I understand where the confusion is stemming from

When saved listings are created from importing listing from your Closed Listings folder, the template, images, description, and seller details appear within the description editor on the lister page, which makes the listings difficult to edit via standard means.

In order to update the listing to reflect the standard, easily editable listing format, I recommend, first, highlighting and copying the description text displayed within the editor. When doing so, just copy the text that you would normally enter in the description editor and exclude the images, seller details text, etc.

Once you have copied your description text, click the "Switch to Text Mode" link above the editor and highlight and delete all of the HTML code currently present there. Then, click "Switch to Design Mode" and paste the copied description text into the editor.

After you have completed these steps, the listing will appear in a more easily editable form, however, some vital information will be missing. Since the template, seller details, and images were removed from within the description editor, you will need to add these pieces of information using the standard method, which entails choosing your images using the "Select an Image" boxes, choosing your template using the "Select Template" button, and selecting your seller details profile using the "Select Seller Details" pull-down menu, directly to the right of the "Select Template" button.
