Today out of the clear blue the templates I tried using all displayed extremely wide- no resizing to fit the monitor screen- This is going on no matter what computer I use-Have tried several-I remember a year or so ago I had this same problem but it went away- Any ideas whats making this happen? Can I put the whole thing into a table & use percentages? Why would it just quit working correctly all of a sudden- just when my aucions starting selling??LOL Any help will be appreciated- I am still not getting any Auctiva image display in Firefox. They show up in IE- I am so vexed & perplexed- Thanks, Gloria

Hi Gloria,

Usually, I find specific picture groupings (like 3 across horizontal) will cause page-spread. It's because the pictures are fixed in size and push-out the right margin. Some of the templates have wide art borders and/or margins, that will make the problem worse.

I'd have to see examples to be sure.

Thanks for the reply- I am using the top & bottom vertical grouping-Here's the link I have noticed that it is now resizing correctly in Firefox but wouldn't you know- I am getting no images loading in Firefox except the thumbnails- Internet Explorer still displays the template very very wide but does load all the pics- Go figure! I am getting dizzy switching back & forth between browsers trying to list auctions successfully! Any ideas will be appreciated! Gloria

WOW! I see what you mean. Since that is a custom template, could you copy and paste the HTML code to the practiceboard and post back the link.

Danno- Here is the link to the HTML from the saved listing I posted over to EBay: http://www.practiceboard.com/?9237983

Now the weirdest thing is I pasted the same code into the practiceboard in Firefox & the page displayed correctly-Justin case here is that link: http://www.practiceboard.com/?9237936

I hope that is the code you wanted-It has to be a browser thing- Thanks so much for your help-Gloria

The code at practiceboard is also failing when I view with IE7, either link.

Looking for cause now.

Did you create a custom template from one of Auctiva's, and can you paste that code to the practiceboard?

The problem appears to be caused by a very! very! very! long string of spaces codes "&nbps;" inserted directly after the text string "Thanks for dropping by and have a great day! </font> ---long string is here---- </p></font>" in the description. Removing the string of spaces brought the text back to normal width and a correct wrap as interpreted by IE7. See if this displays correctly in your IE7 and Firefox before you make the change at eBay. Here's a practiceboard without those spaces:

Use Revise listing with description in HTML mode to locate and remove the spaces codes, then test with Preview before saving.

You are The Man! I saw that long string of non breaking spaces last night & wondered about it but I hadn't really changed anything on the template code so I was afraid to mess with it! Now I realize I must have gone to sleep on the keyboard & inadvertently hit a key over & over with my forehead-Oh the total embarrasment! Oh the joys of aging! But you have saved the day, now if you can just help me figure out why my Auctiva images display in Internet Explorer but not Firefox I will live in a perfect world. Both browsers display the thumbnails like in the search pages but only IE displays them regular & supersize on the listing page. Firefox just gives me the broken img icons. Any ideas on how I could have accomplished this? Thanks so much for your time- Gloria

Is the broken image problem on the thumbnail grouping and do you have a link to a current listing that has the problem?

Oh, and listing 290242092992 (original problem) is look'in good! Wink

Danno- Thanks- Yes I am just sitting back waiting for the bids to start rolling in-LOL! With the Sniping software eeveryone is using these days I am delighted to get any bids at all until the last few seconds!- Not any of my listings are displaying full size images in Firefox for me-Here is a link to one- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290240890036
-It may be on my end but I can't figure how to fix it- The images show up in the search page as thumbnails & on the listing page as thumbnails in the Auctiva scrolling gallery but no where else-either the regular 300x400 size on the listing page or the supersize ones that you link to- Thanks again for all your help!

Technically, I see nothing wrong with the page. I'm sifting the Firefox knowledgebase and have two hits that are worth checking on your system (especially the Skype-eBay add-on).

Are you using new Firefox 3 or an older release?
