By George, I think I finally created my custom template. Now I must be as dumb as a stump because how do I get this in a new listing? I tried using a template but my custom template name is not found?? I don't get it?? Please help!! Sandra
Here is how you make use of a custom template in a listing.
Once you are on the new listing page, scroll down, pass the section where you enter the start price. The next section will be called Template: and there will be a link called Select Template. Click on this link.
A window will popup that will show you all the templates that Auctiva offers. In the list box on the left side of the screen, the third item in the list is Custom. Click on this. The page will reload and show you all the custom templates you have created. Click the Select button below the one you want to use. The page will reload again and give you a preview of the page will look like. After this has loaded, on the left side, click the button that says Save Template to Listing. This will then save the template to the listing you were creating. Now select the images you want, enter your description and other details for the listing.
Once you have entered all the details about the listing, click the Preview button at the bottom of the page to see how the listing will look on eBay with your custom template.
Sandra, did you get this taken care of yet? I know I posted to you in another thread the other day that I would be back to help but with the site being down I was unable to get the HTML for the template you wanted.
Just hollar if you still need help, not sure how much I'll be around this weekend but I'll try and check in
Thanks all for your help! Thanks too Wahm922! I think I almost have what I want now. The only thing I would like to change is that under the template - there is a another large picture of my 1st picture. I noticed that this happens in the original Craftsman corner template also.
Is there a way to make that picture go away or make it smaller?? Thanks again for your support! I would have never made it this far without you all!
If I understand what you are refering to correctly, I believe that picture is what we refer to as the "eBay Header Image" and eBay actually puts that large image below your description automatically and it is not part of your template. If you don't want it there, you can try not selecting an eBay Header Image from the dropdown menu next to the images on the lister page. Hope that helps!
Yes, that wa what I was talking about. When I take it out, I also lose the small picture at the top of the Ebay page. So I decided to leave it in . Here is an auction that I just listed: Polly Pocket
It looks great!!! Thanks again for your help! Sandra
Oops I noticed 1 thiing about the pictures. If you click on the 2nd picture and then click on enlarge, it doesn't get bigger. The 2nd picture is the same original size. Is it suppose to work that way??
The second picture is enlarging, but the effect isn't as dramatic because it's not a very big picture to start with. Check the original in your Auctiva images area and you'll see that it's only 140x105 vs. 287x300 for the other one. It can only enlarge to original size. Which, in this case, is relatively small.
