Hi. I'm new to Auctiva, coming from Garage Sale to give this a try. So far I've been unable to get a custom template that works for me and realize it's going to take me a long time to figure that out. I have been able to create a profile in my listing that looks like the auctions I usually run--in other words, a "faux" template but without the user options a true template affords. It is very simple with a plain background and tables for different description components.
I have tried to take the HTML from the profile and copy and paste it into a "create your own custom template" form but always get the error message that the template must have one and only one tag. Whatever that means. I've experimented multiple ways to figure it out, but keep getting the failure message when I try to save. I even tried to copy the HTML from the template I created in Garage Sale and paste it into the Auctiva create-your-template form but got the same error.
What I'd like to know is if there is any way to simply convert a master profile into a template?
Also, what are the limitations imposed by *not* having a template, by simply using a master profile for all listings? Is there a way to control the scrolling gallery appearance w/o a template? Also, a way to control the color of the picture borders (if that option is enabled)?
Does a template enable the user to position and arrange pictures, and is that option not available w/o a template?
Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.
