Tom or anyone,

Would it be possible to get a complete definition of all the supported tags ([DESCRIPTION], [IMAGE1], etc) that Auctiva supports in its template definitions? I'm looking for a tag that gives me to access to the 400x300 image URL and also the supersized image URL, but I would like to know what all is supported.

Thanks.

Ashley

All of the tags currently available are accessable from the create/edit custom template page (there are buttons for each), but here is a list of them for your reference:

[STORE_WINDOW] - inserts the Auctiva Store Window in your auction at this location instead
of its usual at the top or bottom of the listing

[TITLE] - the title of your auction

[SUBTITLE] - the subtitle of your auction

[SHIPPING] - your shipping details as defined on Profiles->Seller Details

[PAYMENT] - your payment details as defined on Profiles->Seller Details

[TERMS_OF_SERVICE] - your terms of service as defined on Profiles->Seller Details

[ABOUT_ME] - your about me information as defined on Profiles->Seller Details

[CONTACT_US] - your contact us information as defined on Profiles->Seller Details

[DESCRIPTION_AND_IMAGES] - this tag inserts your auction description along with your images. The images will be inserted into your description using the location and layout that you specify on the lister page, like one of our regular templates. We use 400x300s with a 'click to supersize' link.

[DESCRIPTION] - instead of the above tag, you can use this one to insert the auction description only (no images), then use the tags below to specify the location/type of images.

Use Auctiva's auto-arrangement feature for your images (this utilizes the 400x300 with click-to-supersize):

[IMGS_VERTICAL] - images will be in a straight verticle line, one on top of the other

[IMGS_PAIRED] - images will be in a verticle line, paired up two-by-two

[IMGS_HORIZONTAL] - images will be in a horizontal line, one next to the other

[IMGS_SLIDESHOW] - your images will play in a slideshow, with one image being visible at a time and switched out for the next one every few seconds

-- OR -- Place each image individually:

[IMAGE1_URL] - the image URL only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_URL400x300] - the image URL for a 400x300 version of the image only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_URL96x96] - the image URL for a 96x96 version of the image only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_ORG] - the entire HTML <img> tag for your original image, no resizing, borders, click-to-superize link, etc.

[IMAGE1] - the entire HTML <img> tag for a 400x300 version of your image with a click-to-supersize link around it. (Of course smaller images will not be resized)

We have been adding more as we get the demand, so any feedback is appreciated as usual. I hope this helps.

This same list is now also available directly from the Create/Edit custom template page, just click on the 'View All Available' link next to the Custom Template Tag header in the orange box.

This would do that:

[STORE_WINDOW] - inserts the Auctiva Store Window in your auction at this location instead
of its usual at the top or bottom of the listing

I'm new with using auctiva and was wondering if there was a newsletter arrangement developed since this was posted on 12/22/05? If so where can I find the information on it? Thanks Smile, Jamie

how about adding tags for more detail on each listing like Brand:

Retail Price:
Condition:
Size:
Color:
Fabric:
Style:
Care:
Notes:

And then maybe measurement ones like

Chest
Waist
Hip
Inseam
Rise
Sleeve Length

Hi there toobugs, the tags you're wanting sound pretty specific to selling clothing and such and I would imagine that if they start creating tags like that, everyone in every selling area is going to want their own "custom" tags made for them. I would think that to be quite cumbersome for Auctiva to achieve.

...then again, I was thinking, those tags are in the templates, not the description area of where you'd be typing....so even if they did make those tags, you wouldn't be able to use them properly because they'd be in the background.

Instead, why don't you just make your own standard template in the description area and set up the entire listing like you would if you were sending it live, and then just "create similar" from that listing and all your info will be copied right in the new listing.

Just a thought, hope it helps. Good luck to you in your auctions Smile

I put this feature into Auctiva Poster when I programmed it in 1998 and almost nobody used it. I called it custom items I think. Hmm, it's still there in Auctiva Poster. If you go create a new template you can add fields.

Then when you are creating listings using that template there are boxes for you to fill in for each of the fields you created. They are saved per item. So if you had a clothing template you could have those fields and enter them per item, and they would be placed in your template where you wanted.

A very cool & useful feature, but too seldom used.

Jeff,

Do we have access to those tags you are referring to here 'free' auctiva? I went to the forums on Auctiva Poster and I didn't find it....or I just couldn't figure out how to "search" for it properly. Any help would be great.

Thanks, Kathleen Smile

Sellit,

If you go to this stickie at the top of this thread...it will give you a step by step instructional to build your own just as Jeff stated.

Build one template and you'll be hooked.

Custom Template Tutorial

I also left you a message in regards to needing a logo designer below. Plus, those persons do custom template work!

Good Luck,
Donna

Hey there Donna,

Oh yeah, I customize all of my own templates now...I start with the Auctiva templates because I like their borders, and I *tweek* the rest of it to my own needs to give it a new *look*.

I saw your other message too, I'll look into those 2 folks for the logo issue and see if they can't help me.

Thanks for the tip Wink

Best regards,
Kathleen

No. Auctiva Poster is downloadable desktop software. It's part of Auctiva Classic.

Hi Jeff,

Could you be a little more specific in exactly how to implement the custom tags in a template?
