When I get a "response", the link takes me here!! Guess they don't actually listen or DO anything! They just want us to "chat" about it. Well THAT sure works!!

I filed a support request MORE THAN A WEEK AGO and I have yet to receive a response....if no one can respond to support requests it would be nice if someone could at least respond to the board. Even just a "we're working on it" is better than not receiving any response at all.

Hi LUVBSBL,
I can see all the images in your auctions and store window just fine. Are you still experiencing this problem? On a side note, this is the Auctiva Poster forum for our desktop applications. You might get a faster response regarding issues such as these if you post in the "Image Hosting" or "Store Window and Store" forums above in the Web Based Tools section.

Sorry David, I did post under the store window forum also but that isn't important now. I have checked my auctions and my store window is not showing up at all, so I am not sure how you are seeing it. I pulled up several ads by going directly to eBay, by clicking them from eBud, and I went next door to my neighbors house to see if the showcase appeared when I viewed my ads on her computer. It is just a blank white box. I filed a support request also, in detail, and received a one line response which doesn't help since I already did what I was told to do, and specified that in the original support request when I filed it. I am refering to my showcase, not the pictures of the auction item itself. The pictures I have plugged into the ad work fine, but my showcase does not work at all. I don't really want to type any more here since it isn't appropriate. I am hoping to receive a better response since I followed up on the support request, but I am not holding my breath after the last response.

Hi avanteguardeinc, You are in a different situation then LUVBSBL because you are using the Classic Showcase. We actually discontinued support for the classic store window early this month (as per an email we sent out in May) and recommend that you sign up for our new (free) store window at http://www.auctiva.com. You can also get the HTML for the new store window at http://www.auctiva.com/stores/storewindowhtml.aspx and paste it into your description if you want to customize its location. Hope that answers your question, Auctiva David

Yeh David, I am aware of that. I have also explained that the NEW html is not working. I created 81 ads using the new html and it never worked. I was also told more than a week ago that there was going to be a fix for the old showcase so that I wouldn't have to edit the 2000+ ads that I had running. That doesn't explain why I am not getting responses to my support requests. The one response I did receive did not answer my questions at all. I am not getting one bit of help in any way by posting here or by filing support requests. I keep having to repeat everything that I have already stated many times before. Everything you said above I am aware of. What I am saying is the new html is NOT working in any of the ads I created. After I was told I would not need to do this, if I can get the new html to work, do I have to edit over 2000 current ads and replace the showcase html ? Can that be answered for me here since support will not respond ?

I apologize for the confusion here.. this community board is seperate from our support system so I'm not sure what you have already told our support staff regarding this issue. Can you please post an eBay item number for an auction where you have included the new HTML that isn't working?
You shouldn't have to revise all of your eBay auctions to add the new storewindow, it will be automatically appended to your existing auctions when you generate a token with our new site.
If you already signed up a while ago, I can set up your account to be updated but we should probably find out why the new HTML isn't working for you first. What username did you use to sign up for the new store window? I couldn't find any record of avanteguardeinc.

Whew well thanks for responding David....this is at least a start. I am guessing that part of the problem is because I am not able to successfully generate a token. I have attempted it many times and it always fails. As you know I am a Classic Auctiva user. I signed up on the new site so that I could get the html for the new showcase. When I did that it required me to create a new user name, e-mail address, etc. because I was already signed up on the classic site with my other user name and e-mail address. When I originally attempted to create a token it appeared to be successful however I got an event message telling me it failed. I have attempted this several times. As of today when I try to generate a token I am getting a message I did not receive before. It tells me that an attempt to generate a token failed because I have two Auctiva accounts. Well, yeh I have two accounts because it made me create a new acount LOL. The new Auctiva account name is FrankEdwards. Here's an item number (104752189172) for one of my simpler auctions that is using the new html. Sorry if I am posting too much detail for you that may or may not be relevent, but I am trying to make sure you have all the details since you are the only one helping me and support STILL has not responded. I have a feeling most of my issues can be resolved if I can get a successful token generated. I'malready blue in the face so I won't hold my breath LOL.

Well.. some good news at least is that the store window HTML is indeed working, the bad news is that it will display that message "Our host site is experiencing..." instead of your actual items until you can successfully generate a token. I think you are correct in that the token is the base of all these problems. I'm going to go look into your new account now and see if I can't find out what's wrong with the token generation process and get back to you shortly.

Thanks David ! My faith is being restored just a little bit at this point. I did receive a response finally to my support request even though it still didn't answer all of my questions. It didn't have anything to do with my token though. Basically it looks like I am going to have to edit over 2000 ads to remove the old store html unless someone else has any ideas. The new showcase IS showing up in the ads that I replaced with the new html as you indicated even though there are no pictures, but my ads existing before that just have the white / blank box. Any suggestions as to how I can remove / replace this since I can't even foresee making the available time to edit that many existing ads ? I know there have to be others out there who have a huge amount of ads in there eBay stores that use the old html.

I have imported your token from your other account into the new FrankEdwards one, so that should be good. The only question is do you want us to append the new store window to the bottom of all your existing auctions? We can do it automatically, the only problem is it will be at the bottom and won't change your existing description (so the white box will still be there). I'm thinking this might be the best option though since obviously it would take forever to manually edit each listing, and once the listings are sold/expire you can then relist using the new HTML.
This would also populate the window with pictures, although even if you decide to not have the store window automatically appended we can still populate that window.

Hi there David and thanks for responding ! I also want to thank Ed for his incredibly detailed response to my support request. In a nutshell, I do not want the new store window appended to my ads. I like where it is currently positioned so I will have to spend the next few weeks (motnhs?) replacing the old html. About 1500 of my ads are store listings that run indefinitely and don't expire, so I'll just have to update them as time permits. Please note that I do have several ads that have the new html already and the showcase is there except no images. So can you go ahead and correctthat and have it populated without appending the window to my existing ads ? Also, since you imported the token, shouldn't the new Auctiva website reflect that I have current auctions ? All the details reflect that I have nothing at all when the actual number is 1674. The old Auctiva site reflects that I have 147 and zero bids. I have many with bids. That was before you even imported the token to the new site, so it seems that something is still wrong with either of the Auctiva sites having accurate data for my account. At least I think we are moving forward, but I think the first step is getting my new showcase window populated in the ads I have already replaced with the new html (without you appending the new html to my old existing ads) and getting the data on the website to reflect accurately. Thanks again for your response...I do very much appreciate it and I'll be patient until I hear from you or Ed again.

Alright, if you check your listings using the new HTML you'll see the storewindow is now populated with images  Also your new account now has record of all your listings. Notice that I turned OFF the store window in your account settings. All this does is prevent us from automatically appending the store window to your listings. Store windows that you manually paste in yourself will still continue to operate. Please let us know if you have any more concerns, Auctiva David
