I don't like the new "changes" with postage at all with version 4.02! Before, we could just enter the shipping on the details page, now, we have to take an EXTRA step and click on a postage button to enter the postage information, which is even more complicated than before. The only way I was able to remember to enter shipping before is because it was right there in plain sight.. now I have to remember to look for it! It sucks!

What am I missing? I don't find this any more difficult, or time consuming, or have extra steps, than the previous version. I'm doing the extact same steps I did for every auction, only now I have more shipping option boxes available to me on that page. What is the difference to you that makes it such extra work? I'm really curious to know.

In 4.01 there was just an empty box to enter the shipping amount.

In 4.02 you can't enter shipping unless you click the SHIPPING INFO button, and then you have to enter all your shipping information in that screen. Then you have to click OK to get out of that screen and get back to your listing.

I had about 20 auctions error out on me last night because I converted my auctions to fixed price, and even though my shipping amounts were in there, I had to manually go in and state what shipping method it was.

In 4.01 I didn't have to do that. You just entered the shipping amount right next to the auction price and you were done. Now it's a few extra steps. So I will no longer be using the shipping info in my auctions.

It was nice while it lasted. Another typical case of DON'T FIX WHAT'S NOT BROKEN.

Oh, and by the way - I always used the flat rate shipping option. So I never had to change anything on the other screen before. This is why I was always able to enter the shipping in the shipping box and move on. If you don't use flat rate you probably wouldn't notice a difference.

That is true, there was. I never used it since all my auctions are "calculate shpping rate", and for the few that were flat rate, I was already on the 2nd page out of habit.

So, it seems to me the SIMPLE soultion here (Auctive, you listening?) is to put the flat rate box back on the first page, and along with the changes to the 2nd page, everyone would be happy.

In all reality, I don't understand now why they removed it. Maybe the programmer wasn't just thinking of the consequences.

I LIKE IT! If you go to your personality and edit so that you have preset shipping rates it is great! It allows me to offer both International and Domestic options without having to write it in several times. True if you forget, screw up - you have some great auctions with FREE shipping to lure customers to want to buy more!
