I was using 3.18B...worked perfectly. I was prompted to update..I did and got 3.99...it does not work..I keep getting errors. I downloaded latest power tools and still only get version 3.18, not 3.18B. Where can I find a version of 3.18B to download ?? Help ??
3.99 is telling me that my title is "over" 55 characters in length, but in reality it is fewer than 55. If it were over 55, 3.18c wouldn't have let me type that much in my title in the first place, no?
I click the post tab, it takes me to the new look page with the auctiva banner at the top and the small post button, I click on the post button and it gives me an error code saying that my title is over 55 characters. But it isn't.
2003 MATTEL NEW BATMAN QUICK FIRE JOKER ACTION FIGURE
How many characters do you count in that title?
I can't remember the specific error code (number?). Sorry, but I don't really want to load 3.99 again right now.
I've gone back to using 3.18 and since I spent an entire day updating all my saved listings to take advantage of the extra ten characters 3.18c provided me, the work around I'm having to use is to load the listing and post right away. I can't make any changes on the general tab. If I go into the general tab, 3.18 of course lets me know that my title is "too long". But if I avoid the general tab, then I'm good. I'm limping through tonight thankfully....
What's an API by the by?

Hunter- I've tested your title with the "eBay API Test Tool" and it returns the same error. This is a problem with the eBay API call. We've all counted the characters here and we all agree, it should work. I've filed a support case with eBay. At this point, all we can do is wait for eBay's response and hope for a solution.
Sorry I don't have anything better to report... Ken

Thanks for the help. Seems that ebay fixed this error on their end.
But now I've got a new problem.
3.99 is entering all my info on ebay.ca it seems, and listing all my items in Canadian dollars instead of in U.S. dollars. It's true that I'm from Canada, but I've never listed anything in Canadian funds, and I certainly don't care to start now.
Hmmmn, had there been a preview window, I would have been able to see that the program was going to do this, and been able to abort before ebay charged me to list in Canadian funds. Hmmnn...
It's absolutely driving me crazy that I had 3.18c in my hands, and was stoked about the extra ten characters in the title, and now I've got this mess of 3.99a which is useless to me. I feel like a kid who had someone come up and steal his favorite toy.
And I can't believe you won't give me back 3.18c until you can figure out how to make 3.99a work for Canadian (and possibly other international) users. You don't know how hard I've tried to get Norton unerase and Go Back to help me revert to 3.18c. Best I can do is go back to 3.18, but again, it doesn't support the extra ten characters in the title. But at least it lets me list in US dollars.
Please figure out why this is happening and how to stop it.
I've been with auctiva for about three years now, and my annual renewal is coming up soon. I don't see how I could possible renew with the way things stand right now, because your program has just become totally useless to me listing my items in Canadian funds as default.
Thanks for listening to my rant...

quote:File a support case and report your problems. We wont be going back or providing 3.18c. It's part of eBays rules for the API. It shouldnt take us long to get these minor issues resolved in 3.99 if you report them now with detailed info in a support case and provide us with the auction eby files that are failing so we can produce the problem here and fix it.
Tom, does this mean that we CANNOT post with 3.18c? What will happen if we do. I don't expect support, I'm just scared to use 3.99 since I'm just getting started posting again after about a month and a half.

You just need to set the Country to US and put your real location where the city / state is
It is working as it should now. Before we only accessed eBay for the US so that is all it would support for currency Now, it posts based on your actual Country Just change it to US and comment if needed in your listing details and stuff

Thanks Ed
It's a little more complicated than that Ed. Please look at this topic for reasons why what you propose both violates the ebay member agreement and alienates my Canadian customers.
