Q1: If I hand-carry my package to USPS/UPS, how does Auctiva Insure it?

Q2: If I selected, say UPS ground, in my listing but now wish to ship my item via USPS will Auctiva still insure it and how do I do it (see question #1, above)

Thank you

Hi, As far as I know, I think UPS automatically insures for an XX dollar amount, maybe $100.00?? I don't use UPS, but I am sure plenty of sellers on Auctiva do..and should be able to help you with the rest..this is all I can offer you..at this time..hope it helps you some.

auctiva insures it whenever you (or your customer) purchase insurance through auctiva.

if you have checkout turned off, the only time insurance is purchased is when you login, view your sold items, and buy insurance.

if checkout is turned on, then it depends on how you have insurance set (included in s/h, optional for customer to pay, mandatory, etc) and whether or not customer buys the insurance when checking out.

Now whether or not there's an issue when insurance is purchased through auctiva with shiping options set to ship via USPS and you then drop it off at UPS instead, i have no idea. I have my own policy through u-pic (the people that the auctiva insurance is through) and I have to specify which carrier at time of purchase (because i pay different rates based upon which carrier)

what calif. girl said about UPS is correct. packages shipped through UPS have $100 coverage included in the shipping fees.

It's possible if checkout says UPS and you switch to USPS it wouldn't be covered but I don't know for sure.

I will make sure it is covered... but if I find people abusing this, I will change my mind.
