I Agree That Overall The DSR is a good thing for eBay buyers and seller. However I think it takes some of the individuality out of the buying experiecnce. Sellers are more like ebay robots know and individual sellers are not take'en into accoubt. If I'm buying a stove from "Bubba" I don't really excpoect to have Wal-mart Customer Service.
I sell My Orginal Abstract Picasso Stlye Graffiti Art in my eBay store Urban Picasso Art

I had to smile at your response, UP...you don't have any DSR's yet. Just wait...Detailed Seller Ratings are the most RIDICULOUS thing ever thought up by Ebay, other than the 'no negs for buyers'. Sure if you're a buyer they can be great, you can stab a seller in the back so to speak. If your a seller, you'll be holding your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you don't maintain HIGH DSRs you'll be restricted from selling among other things. I have to admit, my DSRs are very high but I have to break my neck to keep them that way. Just another nail in Ebay's coffin.....

My thoughts exactly 8880....(one of) the dumbest moves eBay has made! I don't mind so much the DSRs for the "Item as described" or "Communication", but when we get lower scores for something we have absolutely no control over (Shipping time? hello!!!!) that's when it get po'd. I ship the same day payment is received (if possible) or the next day at the latest! And yet my score is lower for some reason...

The very least eBay can do (if they insist on keeping this stupid rating system) is revise the "Shipping Time" to read "Time it took to mail item out" or something like that. Or put a great big note in red that says "seller is not responsible for shipping delays through the USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc." It's easy for a buyer to see when an item was mailed, and the buyer should go by that, rather than when they actually received their item. I had a buyer write in my FB that the item was great but the shipping time was a bit slow....turns out SHE let it sit at the post office for a week before picking it up! Guess that was my fault.

Hi Reba..you're reading my mind about the Shipping star. That one REALLY should go. I have a package (sent out the same day I rec'd payment) sitting in limbo somewhere now for the 20th day. Thankfully my buyer SEEMS to be understanding, but who the hell knows?
What I would like to see, since these stupid things are forced on us anyway, is a star for HOW THE ITEM WAS PACKAGED. Seriously, just the other day I recieved a pair of boots in a Hefty bag wrapped with duct tape. At first I laughed myself sick but believe me, that seller would have gotten the lowest rating I could give if there were a star for packaging.

OK sorry, my rant is over now, I feel better Big Grin
