Is anyone else losing pictures you have put into listings that you have not posted to eBay as of yet? I have lost them in over 200 listings already that I plan to post to eBay. Also has anyone lost pictures in descriptions that have posted to eBay? I have lost all of them, I can not even relist with a picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. The same thing is happening to me. My pictures are dropping like flies. Some are still showing in Auctiva images but not in my eBay listings. Others are gone completely from Auctiva images. I too would like to know what is going on.

Thank you so much for replying! I was feeling alone. I consider myself a strong person, but I truly am getting ready to cry. I wanted to wait till after I went to eBay Live to list them. Three weeks ago when I did have 200 listings close I had no pictures showing at all in any of my listings and lost BIG $ because of it. Now having over 600 listings sitting here I am really getting worried. I am up to 250 without pics now, that did have them. And they are all compressed pictures before I upload them. I am looking at a trash can on some and a X on others what do you see in Auctiva?

Well, right now I have only found 7 without pictures, but I haven't gone through all of them yet. I fixed a couple, those that the picture was still in Auctiva. But, the ones that the picture is gone all together, I will have to take new pictures for. I wish someone would respond that knows what is going on because I don't know what to tell you. All I can suggest is what I did. I went to revise item, clicked the trash can that was there for the missing picture, then when it said add picture, I pasted the link to my picture in Auctiva in the box and hit upload. Like I said, it only worked for the ones that the pictures were still in Auctiva Images. Good luck!

I am so happy to have found this thread. Most of the other posters seem to be complaining that they can't upload pictures to Auctiva. I am not having any trouble doing that. My problem is that my pictures aren't displaying in the EBay auction listings where they need to be seen. I don't know if Auctiva is aware just how serious this is because we will simply not be able to use their service if it can't be counted on to work or be able to be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. I love doing my listings here-just donn't know if I should continue or not- Strangely my pictures show up in the EBay auctions in the Internet Explorer browser but not the Firefox browser. I wonder if anyone else has looked at the browser's interpretation as being part of the problem- Hoping for a quick fix!!! Gloria

I am starting to think it has something to do with Firefox as well. Now, if I try to directly upload a picture from my hard drive to eBay without using Auctiva, the browser crashes. I only use Firefox and now I am wondering if my pictures REALLY are on the listings but I just can't see them because I am using Firefox. That still doesn't explain, though, the ones I have lost from Auctiva Images. Oh, well. I am going to keep plugging along and will replace them if they disappear again.

I use firefox and explorer, both are not showing my images. I have also lost all my images on any unsold items in my ebay page. Very frustrating.

Hi Gloria, thank you for replying. I feel the same way. I have used Auctiva for two years and never a problem like this. I had 200 listings close three weeks ago and right before they were getting ready to close all pictures dissapeared from my listings. I list a large quanity only on Sundays, taht has always worked for me. But now I am so afraid to list anything tomorrow. I just wish Auctiva wodl respond to my requests last time I heard from them was Friday in the early afternoon. Since nothing. Usually their customer service is so quick, I am dissapointed they are not addressing this problem, just a simple email with a update would be really great.

Yes, I lost a gallery image in one of the saving listings. I tried to load it again from the One Page Lister Form, it could be fixed. However, I also found that one of the listing images was lost too, so I tried to reload those images with my previous order. It didn't work. I tried again & again, it still failed.....what can I do now? But I only lost 2 images so far.

When will my pictures come back? I have over 1300 listings on ebay and none of them are showing any images! It has been like this for two days now and why isn't it getting sorted? The images are critical and if Auctiva is having a problem why haven't they put up a large notice on their site saying what is happening and when it is expected to return to normal? Surely that wouldn't be too much to ask.

Must be a problem with your computer or internet connection. I checked a dozen of your listings or more and all were fine. Try a neighbors computer or go to the Library or something and use the computer there to confirm they are showing.

Everyone else should file a support case. If there were any real problem with images the message board would have hundreds of posts, not just 4 or 5. Also it would help to provide a link to an item without pictures.

Jeff,
I appreciate you reply however it was not helpful. I sent a help request on Friday . Tech support was looking at it. The first I heard back was late this afternoon. As regards to my pictures missing if you open my folder June pics needed, you will see over 100 listings which had photos and now are lost. As far as eBay yes as of last nite at 8 pst time the pictures returned. And yes I have looked on several computers with different IP address to see that this is a problem with Auctiva not my computer. Please do not slam me in forums when I am only looking for an answer.

My apologizes Jeff. Your post was not even directed towards my question, frustration got the best of me. All seems to be working perfectly again and I am thrilled! Thank you very much!

Jeff
I have checked my listings on all 4 computers we have at home (3 PCs and 1 Mac) and it is the same for all my listings and Auctiva store, so its not the PC. I don't understand how it can be my ISP but will go to the library to check. If you say you have checked some of my listings and the images are all showing correctly, then I am reassured slightly. I don't understand why the gallery images where I have used them are displaying but the images in my auctiva store or ebay store are not. As far as supplying a link to a listing without pictures - try any listing in my ebay shop 'adsandends' or this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&it...ageName=STRK:MESE:IT
I am using Orange ISP - is anyone else having similar problems with them?

Hi MelK-I don't believe it is your ISP- There is something going on with images- I know Auctiva is serving them but for whatever reason I too am having problems getting them to display- but only in Firefox- Your listings are behaving the same as mine-for me. I get the images in Internet Explorer-but not Firefox- I get the thumbnails in Firefox. ie. the search listings, the Auctiva scrolling insert on the item pages but not the reg size pics or the supersize pics. Both computers in my house are doing the same thing- My sister just across town however confirms she is getting all of my pics as well as yours on both browsers. Go figure- Could it be a malware or trojan thing happening? Here is a link to one of my listings- See if you get an image display on it. I can go thru the Ebay listings & look at any Auctiva listing & get the same thing over & over. Images in IE-None in Firefox-Was using Firefox 2-upgraded to 3 last night with no change in image display problem. But please don't think you are crazy because it is happening to me as well! Gloria

Hi Gloria et. al.,

I'm continuing to investigate the problem. I've looked at Gloria's and others with WinXP-SP3 and the IE7 browser and no problems (with that browser).

Thank you Gloria for confirming the problem occurs in both the Firefox 2 and 3 versions. Did you check Firefox for the Skype Add-on, that's reported to be a cause of image failures at the Firefox Forum? If you examine images on other non-Auctiva listings at eBay, are those also failing?

Gloria - I tried your link and no images were displayed in your listings either on any of my PCs. I am reassured that potential customers can see my images but still baffled as to why this is happening. I am relieved to know that I am not going mad!

Danno - I have looked at other listings on ebay that do not use auctiva and some display but others don't. I don't think it is an image size issue as all my images are jpgs at 640 x 480 which is below the recommended size for uploading. I don't use Skype and am having the same trouble with Windows Vista, XP (Explorer 7) and Mac OSX (Firefox and Safari). When I look in my folders in my Auctiva account there are no images showing at all and there should be around 4000! When the ebay page is loading, the message in the bottom left corner hangs at the "2 items remaining ( auctiva image link)". Could it be that I have reached my storage limit on my Auctiva and that you have blocked my account? I do some regular houskeeping deleting images for items I know I have sold but know there are loads that still need to be cleared (sorry!)

I have emailed Orange Broadband help but typically had no reply yet. I might try to phone them on their premium rate helpline but I am sure the operators won't have a clue and it would probably cost me £10 to be told that!

I use Norton 360 which does regular scans and has found nothing. If it was just on one PC I might guess it was a Trojan or other nasty, but it also happens on my Mac which isn't usually a target for these.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi MeIK,

When you state you can't see your 4000 images at Auctiva, does that mean the image library is missing the images or that the image file name and URL links for them all are there and the image thumbnail at left for each simply won't display?

All my folders are there, the image reference numbers are there but the thumbnails are not showing. When the ebay page is loading is says waiting for (then the Auctiva image reference number) in the lower left corner. I have run all the virus and trojan scans we have and it did find some low threats as usual which have been deleted. I am coming to the conclusion that maybe the virus is in my modem/router and will try a direct connection using another modem rather than the networked router. We have tested the Orange broadband connection which seems to be fine and quite fast at 6.5mb but it could still be something to do with this.
The good news is that I have sold 3 items today and have a bid on another so obviously my customers can see my images, but I am unable to make any new listings as I can't see the images! I uploaded a new test image today and it does not display at all in Auctiva. It's driving me mad...

The only possible common factor that I'm finding (thus far), is "active script code" on the images. I'd like to try something that is low risk.

Go to the Auctiva main page. On the IE7 toolbar, select Tools - Internet Options. On the pop-up page, select Security Tab. On that window, select TRUSTED SITES from the icon group near page top. That should produce a change which gives you a Sites button. Click on the Sites button and you should see a small window with Auctiva's homepage address. Use the ADD button to include it on the list.

I'm hoping that it's a Security setting in IE7 (maybe Firefox too) that's blocking the active code, and that override is hopefully a quick test to see if the images on the Auctiva Image Management page will show. I believe the default settings for a Trusted Site are low security, so all the settings are enabled for scripts, etc. You may need to exit all browser windows and restart with new browser page for the change to work.

I may be completely wrong, but a simple test at least helps eliminate one more possible cause.
