In my ebay listings, I give the choice of 1st class or priority mail. These are the two Domestic Shipping Services I offer in my auctiva listings which I import to rbay.
However, when people checkout, even if they pay the higher fee for priority mail, somewhere along the way what they see, and what the email I receive from Paypal, will both say "1st Class mail".
Why? How do I change this? I'm tired of getting message sthat say, "Make sure you send this priority mail, because that's what I paid for", and the like. Obviously, they are understandably confused by the checkout process.

I would think that you are sending the pkgs First Class in order to get a message like that Not sure I understand what you're doing here...are you printing your shipping labels through Paypal? And where is this information about First Class being generated from?

No, if they pay for priority mail, I ship via priority mail. No, I do not print paypal labels. Somewhere between ebay-auctiva-paypal, their choice of priority mail is getting changed to 1st class, but the price remains the same. I don't understand why you don't understand what I'm doing here. I'm pretty sure this is happening because of Auctiva. I don't think it happens if they don't use auctiva checkout. If I knew where the information about first class was coming from, I might be able to change it. All I know is, when they choose priority mail, go through auctiva checkout and pay w/ paypal, somewhere along the way, they are told they are paying for 1st class, even though they are paying the higher rate for priority mail.

I would email one of these buyers and ask them where are they getting this message from..they should be able to forward it to you through regular emal. At least it would help you track down the source... (I said I didn't understand because I didn't know if you're using PP shipping or not)

I could try that, but I doubt if they're going to remember at what point during checkout it switched to 1st class, and whether they were on ebay, auctiva, or paypal when it happened.
Maybe I'll ask Paypal support.

I am having a similar problem. The Send Invoce option from ebay shows one amount, then the Auctiva checkout shows another. Somehow or another they are being allowed to choose a shipping iotn (that I can't see) for a lesser amount. This is about a $4.00 difference in the most recent case.
I refunded the customer the amount they paid and resent the correct invoice.
Why are the amounts different in Auctiva checkout when the preferences on Ebay are st correctly?
I had the option for the customer to edit the amounts, but now have it set where they cannot.
Perhaps that will resolve the problem, but I still am wondering how they can change a shipping option and change it to something I am not offering NOR am I able to see what it was that they CHOSE.

Cathy All in all it's just a.... brick in the wall.

I notice paypal doing this. The page that shows postage ALWAYS shows the cheapest postage from ad and not what was paid, but the packing list from paypal ALWAYS shows the correct postage. I have to print the packing slip first to know the proper rate to use. ED
