I don't know if this is a problem with Activa or me! Confused I haven't heard one word from my buyer in two days. I sent four emails and two invoices through eBay, two from the invoices. I also did not use Auctiva checkout because I'm not that familiar with all of Auctiva's features.

Three of my emails were sent through eBay and one from my own email address.

On both eBay and Auctiva, the status is "Awaiting Checkout."

Could there be a conflict between Auctiva and eBay? I do NOT have the checkout feature checked here.

Thank you once again from this newbie! Big Grin

Hi. Bikeshopgirl, did you get paid yet - do you know it's all working as it should?

Toonew, sure it makes sense. Smile Would you mind posting an auction number? What does your TOS say? Frankly, I'd be pretty aggravated with getting six emails (counting invoices 'cause those are emails too) in two days for one purchase.

I looked in my closed listings in Auctiva and don't use their checkout. It shows items as paid with a paid date.

Shadeaux:

I AM aggravated. Mad I know my emails have nothing to do with Auctiva, but it sure is upsetting when there is no reply. What beats me is that she has 163 transactions with 100% rating. Maybe she became ill. ?????

My concern is whether there is a conflict between eBay and Auctiva insofar as the invoices are concerned. Even so, you'd think she would answer my emails.

I also checked my closed listings and they show the end/paid dates.

My TOS is simple! Payment due within 24 hours of winning bid to confirmed bidders only. USA

Do people who use automatic bids just go through all the items they want on different days and go on vacation???? (being facetious) lol They don't necessarily need to be available, do they? That thought occurred to me today. I don't know anything about proxy bids other than eBay does it for you.

Live help..... get this... told me to call the buyer!! She's in Nevada. I don't mind the long distance call, but have never heard of a seller doing it. Holy smoke! That doesn't sound good to me! Losts of questions here. Big Grin

Well, sounds like a seasoned eBayer, who would possibly know you can't do anything to enforce being paid in anything less than 8 days. On the 1st hour of the 8th day, you can file a UID to either get your payment collected or your fees reimbursed... another waiting game.

Live help saying to call is a bit premature, JMHO. Of course, since that's what your TOS says, you're perfectly justified in calling. You just request her contact info and it will include her phone number. No, it's not at all unheard of and again, you have every right to call her. I'd approach it with a sort of 'are you alright, thought ya might've become ill' attitude or something like that. Nothing too aggressive I think and again, that's just IMHO. Smile

Oh, and when you request her contact info, yours will automatically be sent to her as well. That may give her a heads up she's about to receive your call or maybe just further bring her attention to your concern.

Proxy bids and bidding services that snipe don't require the bidder to do anything further to max out their bid. Remembering and coming back to pay is up to them and their seller after that. Maybe she didn't realize your quick payment request. We all know that not all buyers read our TOS or even the whole description of the item that's listed. Frown Or if we don't know already, we learn that real fast.

There should be no conflict between eBay and Auctiva where the invoices are concerned. Even if you used Auctiva checkout, that should be true. I believe then Auctiva sends the invoice and eBay doesn't unless you manually do it.

Gee, that was quick. Smile Thank you. I checked the items she buys and it's mostly copper which I have a LOT of. As soon as I listed another copper item, almost instantly, there was one person watching and I wouldn't be surprised if it is she. The one she bid on is very "hot" right now and I can't re-list it. Frown

As for contacting her, I have her name, address and phone number which were on the invoice. I should think she would be concerned about getting a negative feedback, but I'm not going there! I know she'd retaliate.

Yes, I know people don't read everything on the listings and I'm thinking of revising several things and maybe not even use the templates as much as I LOVE THEM!!!! I've duplicated some of my payment options with shipping. It's ALL on the invoice so they CAN'T MISS IT! Good or bad..... I'm a very detail oriented person.

You may be right about the quick payment request and I may change that as well, but again, it's all on the invoice.

Well, I suppose it's just a waiting game now, isn't it? Frown

My opinion, you shouldn't even consider this until WAY down the road. Like after you close the dispute... and I really think you likely won't even have to do an UID - gut feeling. Smile

Ya already know what I think so won't repeat it. Big Grin The only time I've even considered negging a buyer so far is if they don't pay me at all, waste my time and energy and make me go through the system to get my fees reimbursed. You still have five more days(?) for that.

toonew,

You really need to calm down and relax Smile Your TOS of payment in 24 hours is unenforceable and a little ridiculous (no offense, JMHO Smile

People are not at their computers 24 hours a day, they work full time joba and have a life outside of Ebay. Shadeaux is ABSOLUTELY right, just wait the 8 days and file the UPI. And stop emailing the buyer, you are bordering on harrassment. And forget about the FB until the transaction is fully complete.

Just My opinion Smile

Shadeaux - As I previously said, I have no intentions of negging her or anyone else. Big Grin First and foremost, I am not a vindictive person. I am not even considering a UID at this time. There is still the possibility she is ill or out of town, consequently she won't hear from me again until she pays (or doesn't) after the eight-day period.

I appreciate your imput Smile and am happy I posted here rather than listen to "live help." Like you, MY gut feelings were eBay's suggestion => calling her => was preposterous => Auctiva forum => advice. Big Grin To be honest, I don't really care now because I still have the merchandise and know I can sell it eventually. "thar's more where dat came from." And...if I don't sell it, I'll give it away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Member_8880 - - - If you would please take note of my ID => "toonew"..... I had no idea that 24 hours was "ridiculous or unenforceable." As for all the emails, I took the advice of eBay's live help, then came here wanting to know if there was a conflict between Auctiva's and eBay's invoicing. In my lowly transactions of buying and selling, payments have ALL been INSTANT. I am not a "power seller" nor is it my intention to be one. As you so aptly stated, there is "life outside of eBay."
"People are not at their computers 24 hours a day, they work full time joba and have a life outside of Ebay." ~~~~~~~ It's rather ingenuous to think anyone would be ABLE to sit at their computer for 24 hours. I, too, have a life outside of eBay, but my naivete about a buyer NOT being at his or her desk when bidding is up was a lesson learned, thanks to Shadeaux.
I've already said I have no intentions of contacting the buyer. Smile
"And forget about the FB until the transaction is fully complete." ummmmmmmm, I made my point about that when I first posted many messages ago.
btw member_8880....Below is a copy/paste of a power seller's TOS with 2458 feedback of 99.6%: (member since 2000)
"i will mail you an invoice within 24 hours of auction close and you must acknowledge receipt of this invoice within 24 hours. Payment must be received within 7 days after auction closes or negative feedback will be posted." I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for an an acknowledgement within 24 hours. If they can do THAT, they can pay within seconds...a couple of clicks and voila!! Cool JMHO Smile
(I asked my buyer in my second email if she received an invoice which brings me back to my original question here re: Auctiva vs eBay) I have noted there is a 7-day period where I assume a UID would be filed for non-payment by this seller.
Having watched the power sellers for a week, I became "familiar" with some of their ideas, then chose my own. I have a lot to learn. Big Grin
Hi toonew,
I know, I've seen those terms in PS's listings as well. Actually you are allowed to say whatever you want in TOS, but you still can't file an unpaid item report until 7 days have passed, so it seems rather useless Confused
But about the invoice--I don't use Auctiva checkout but I DO know that when I win something from a seller that does use it, I get an automatic email saying I won and I believe there is a link that takes me to checkout. Hmmm, can't remember. But as soon s the buyer clicks on 'pay now' it will take them to checkout anyway so you should be ok there.
Good luck and I hope you've already gotten paid Smile
member_8880:
The issue of invoices has been confusing for me. I have never recieved one. When I win, I go straight to PayPal. I then receive a message from PayPal showing the amount I paid with the person's name, address, etc. That's it.
So now I am wondering if it is necessary to send an invoice. If not, I won't do it. I don't use this checkout either.
Thanks. I also hope I get paid. I honestly don't want to cause a fuss. Smile
I do the same, I usually pay right away. The only time I wait for an invoice is when I'm expecting combined shipping. As long as you sent one through Ebay you're fine. There's even a place on the bottom of the invoice (and always preview it first) you can check and get a copy sent to yourself. I have alot of combined shipping so I always preview first to make sure it's correct.
I send an invoice an hour or two after the auction has ended, and then a reminder invoice in about 5 days if I haven't heard anything from the buyer. Alot of new members think they need an invoice in order to pay and some just like to keep them for their records. After about a week if I still haven't heard anything I'll email and ask if they still want the item. If I get no response after a day or two I'll start the UID (then they usually pay) Smile
This is just what works for me...good luck.
Thanks. Good advice. Smile When I sent the invoice, I had a copy sent to myself. I also kept a copy of the live chat to cover myself. I guess you could call that intuition. Glad I did.
Have you ever needed to file many IUD's?
Not too many, really, considering the large volume I sometimes sell. Although I've noticed people used to pay right away, or the next day, now they seem to wait awhile. Oh well, as long as we all get paid that's what matters Smile
Click the "My Account" tab, then "Checkout Settings", and then check the box next to Track payment status for my eBay sales, and that should fix it.
Thank You, I already adjusted that setting on checkout. The issue I am having is when a buyer wins an auction, the Pay Now button, just sends an email to me to adjust the shipping. The customer does not get the auctiva check out screen at all.
