I'm very confused about buying shipping insurance from Auctiva. With my first sold item the operation went smooth, but at the end, somehow I ended up with a -1.40 on my Auctiva account, it seems like my buyer purchased the insurance from Auctiva, even though at my shipping set up on eBay or all my items I state that insurance it's already included on the shipping cost. So ended up transferring founds to my account for $14.00 , I don't owe anything now and to cover future transactions, but after reading several postings now I have second thoughts. My question is: how can I prevent this for happening? is it really convenient to purchase insurance from Auctiva? What should I set up my checkout or shipping at Auctiva?

any advise on this?
Thanks in advance ...

Beaded Designs - Have you received your information yet? If you want to include insurance, there is a bubble to check on your Auctiva listing page in the shipping tools section. It says, "included in S&H." Your shipping insurance also needs to be enabled.

Then you have to pay for the insurance from Auctiva (sounds like you've taken care of that). The money doesn't automatically transfer from the buyer to Auctiva. If you keep funds in there and check every so often, it's very smooth.

You'll want to make sure on your paid transactions page (sales tab) that insurance has gone through. The item should read "view insurance" not "add insurance" right under the link for "checkout details." When you view it, there is an option to send the buyer proof of insurance. Also, all the information you need for filing a claim is on that page.

I'm in the middle of filing my first insurance claim through Auctiva, so it remains to be seen (for me, at least) how easy that process is. But so far, I have found the insurance setup very smooth. And the insurance keeps Auctiva going - so that's a good thing!
