Hey guys, I've tried searching throughout this forum and saw some of my questions answered in piecemeal fashion here and there, but nothing all-encompassing.
I am using Auctiva secure checkout and have my insurance "on" through it. But, if I click insurance "not offered" on my eBay listing details page, will this turn OFF Auctiva insurance?
When I click on insurance "optional" on my listing details page, eBay is now making me enter an estimated insurance amount, i.e. $1.65 for up to $50. (Based on what I think the item will bid up to). However, I have it set up through my Auctiva shipping insurance settings to add $.35 per $100 of shipping for domestic insurance and $.60 per $100 for international. So, that would mean that I would have to tell eBay that I estimate my ins cost to be $2.00 for something up to $50, when in fact USPS only charges $1.65. Then I'm afraid they'd pull my listing for "fee circumvention" or something.
To me it would be preferable to just check "insurance not offered" (while I still say in my Terms of Sale that "insurance is available only through Auctiva checkout") so the buyer would have to wait until checkout to be able to select whether or not they want insurance. Make sense???

You will not be penalized for providing an estimated insurance cost of $2.00.
You can set it to insurance not offered if you want to, but if you do so, Auctiva checkout will NOT charge your buyer for insurance. You could still purchase the insurance manually from the SALES > TRANSACTIONS page and attempt to collect the fees from the buyer to compensate, but it's really much easier to just provide an estimated insurance cost of $2.00.
