Auctiva Checkout is working just fine for a huge mass of users. If it's not working for you, please file a support case and give us as much information as possible so we can track down the issue and get it fixed. Thanks!
Yes, you do need eBay Checkout enabled for Auctiva Checkout to function properly. Auctiva Checkout is integrated with eBay's Checkout so your buyers actually reach Auctiva Checkout by cliciking the "Pay Now" button on the auction, winning bidder email from eBay, or invoice(if you choose to send one through your "My eBay") page. If you were to disable eBay Checkout, the "Pay Now" buttons would be removed, so your buyers would not be able to reach Auctiva Checkout.
On the other hand, if you listed a group of items while Auctiva Checkout was enabled, which will therefore use Auctiva Checkout, if you were to disable Auctiva Checkout thereafter, your buyers of those items would still be able to successfully complete the Auctiva checkout process thereafter.
Please bare with me as i am new to Auctiva as well.
When i enable Auctiva Checkout, i got this message on the side which worries me: "When using Auctiva Secure Checkout, you must define your settings on your eBay 'Preferences' page "
What exactly does that mean? Currently I have Ebay Checkout Enabled and about to enable Auctiva Checkout without knowing the consequences. I sure try not to complicate things more for my customers.
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some more light on this.
Hi Fobulous88, I'm not sure because I don't use Auctiva checkout, but go to your 'my ebay' page and on the left column under selling preferences there are all kinds of settings...check them all to be sure you're set up.

So what happens if you *don't* enable auctiva checkout?
I had it, but then I got an email from someone who couldn't pay because the site was down all last night. So I am turning it off in the future because that concerns me.
I just want to know that without checkout it will go back to just me sending combined invoices via ebay, etc. Right? Because I'd rather have that then not have someone be able to pay...

To risk redundancy, Thursday night maintenance happens every Thursday night. If you absolutely must have your buyers pay you on Thursday night, you can still bypass Auctiva Checkout by having them send payments to you directly via PayPal by entering the eBay Item ID in the Send Money form. If you want to combine items into an order, you'll have to combine the invoice on eBay.
If you absolutely must have your buyers pay you on Thursday night,
, pardon ?
Mine usually pay me when they want to and so long as it's within 7 days of winning I do not care what time of the day or night they want to pay.
Well I am glad to know that as some buyers are not too savvy regarding the internet and online systems as it is (and why should they be ?) but to know that they cannot pay on a Thursday night (USA time) is a real turn off, does eBay checkout have a no go. no pay time ?
Would we expect a stand alone Auctiva store be offline Thursday evenings too ?
