My winning bidder for an auction where the Auctiva checkout system was being used doesn't want to use Auctiva checkout or have any third party other than EBay & Paypal involved in the transaction - I disabled the setting in My Account checkout preferences but it says it will only apply to future listings not items already posted. Can anyone tell me how to make this happen? Help! Thanks, Gloria
There isn't any method I'm aware of, to change the checkout process for an active or closed listing. It's my understanding that the checkout process is determined at the time the listing is submitted to ebay, and can't be changed. That's why turning-off Auctiva checkout gave you the informational warning that it only applies to future listings.
I'm actually surprise the Buyer hasn't used a 3rd Party checkout before (or have they and had a bad experience). It's not abnormal for eBay and eBay does the handoff during checkout to Auctvia (the more integrated method that might survive the new policy on no 3rd party checkouts in future). The other method is a redirect button in the listing (no eBay).
I've done all 3 methods over the years, so it's not an unknown event and is supported by eBay (they do the handoff).

Oh....and most of the reason Auctiva members use their checkout, is to add the flexibility of Merchant/Credit/Debit Cards for those that prefer that direct payment method over same with PayPal (some just don't like PayPal). I don't know if that's your situation, but it does at least tell the Buyer you're trying to provide the best methods by that extra flexibility.

Danno-Thanks for your reply-Was away from the computer all day- I am trying to have her pay thru paypal-She evidently had a bad experience with a 3rd party checkout or either is super paranoid about any more tentacles into her financial information. Regardless, I have to find a way to make her comfortable with the checkout process-She was invoiced just fine & EBay did the hand off to Auctiva & that is where she stopped & wrote me. Thanks for your help once again-Auctiva needs to be paying you! Gloria
I can understand the Buyer's reluctance, especially if they've had a prior bad experience.
I have considered switching back to Auctiva checkout for the Merchant Card feature and the coming eCommerce Stores. On a switch, I'd put a notice in my listings that I use Auctiva Checkout. Many Sellers put a statement in their listings, so the Buyer isn't surprised.
