Hi, I just sold 2 items to a bidder($20.00 total). This person emailed me saying when he used the auctiva checkout and selected "optional insurance" that he was charged twice for the insurance. I set the insurance for $1.70 but now he was required to pay $3.40. I have since sent him a new invoice.

What I like to know is how do I set a flat insurance rate regardless of amount purchased from auction. such as if someone won multiple auctions from me (totaling $120) that the insurance would still be $1.70. seems like the bidder who won my 2 auctions was charged $1.70 insurance per auction even though the 2 items were being checkout together on one invoice.

if anyone could help, i'd really appreciate it.

thanks.

Have you setup combined shipping rules at eBay in your "Site Preferences" and sync-ed them back to Auctiva from link in the Auctiva eBay Account settings?

ahh ok I did not set that up before but now I have a question.
In the insurance rules setup in ebay "site preferences", should I enter $1.70 for all amounts? I want it so that the auction winner will only be charged 1.70 regardless of amount won.
example below:

Enter the costs for this insurance (applies only to listings with flat shipping costs)
Total Cost of Items Insurance Cost
$0.01 - $9.99 $ 1.70
$10.00 - $49.99 $ 1.70
$50.00 - $99.99 $ 1.70
$100.00 - $199.99 $ 1.70
$200.00 - $299.99 $
$300.00 or more $

hope this question doesn't sound stupid and confusing.

Hi,

No, that question is not confusing and definitely NOT STUPID. I'd considered passing through the Auctiva Insurance structure with a table like that myself, using their discount rates for the tiers for exact cost to buyers.

If the max you ever want to charge for combined is $1.70, yep, that table should work. It's there for override for your own Insurance rates. I say "should" because I've never tested that feature (table), but the rules for COMBINED (meaning more than one purchase across listings) is the method you use to get the Invoices (or the combined one for instant checkout) to be correct for shipping and Insurance.

Make sure you sync that change to Auctiva after you save it at eBay, and I assume you know where that's done in your account settings on Auctiva. You need to do that EVERY TIME you make a change. You also need to select the Combined rules option on the lister for each item you are listing.

Obviously, I'd double-check the first few invoiced cases to see it's working properly. If it's not, check with Auctiva by Support Case, so they can look for cause.
