HI, My buyer bought insurance using Auctiva checkout and I just learned that I need to pay Auctiva for the insurance. When I went to my account setting, it says acct. balance of $4.00. Does this mean I've had other buyers who bought insurance thru Auctiva? All this time when my buyer bought insurance, I purchased it thru USPS when printing out the label. Now I'm realizing that I might have bought double insurance without knowing that insurance was already processed... Now would Auctiva insurance still work without me paying for it since I can wait upto $20 accumulation? Thanks for your clarification.
More than likely your account balance in insurance is showing up in red letters. This means you owe Auctiva 4 dollars for insurance already purchased. Yes more than likely you have had other buyers purchase Auctiva insurance When you reach 5 dollars in the red Auctiva quits providing insurance until you pay them. Unsure as to where you got the 20 dollar figure from. You can make a bit of money by providing your insurance through Auctiva and also another nice advantage is you can use it to insure international first class packages and option that is not available through USPS

Thank you. I read from another poster's reply that sounded like I can wait until my balance reaches $20 to pay the insurance cost... Now how would my buyer know that a insurance was purchased indeed since the shipping label will not show as "Insured"?? Do I just email them?
Hello. Yes, when you or your customer purchase insurance through Auctiva, you can go to your transaction page and click on 'View Insurance'. In this window you can send a notification email to your customer about the insurance they purchased. I do this after I have shipped the item to them. It's an extra step but worth it to me. I have made a bit of money with Auctiva Insurance BTW. Very good system. I recommend it.
Hey Taz, you are right about the automatic emails for Auctiva Insurance. However it is a selectable option, so you might want to toggle to what you want.
My Account > Account Settings > Auto Email Management > Insurance Summary
I have mine set to Don't Send Auto Email, mainly because I like to email the insurance summary after I actually ship the item.
