I'm new and I've read a lot of posts about the insurance and checkout but I want to clarify some things. If I don't use Auctiva's checkout and insurance, will the listings act like the normal eBay insurance and checkout? (Being able to list the $ of insurance and if it's required/optional/not included and go through the normal eBay checkout process.)

How does that work with my shipping profile in my Auctiva listing? The profile only lets me put in if it's required/optional/not included and not the $$.

I hope this makes sense. I'm about to do my first listing and I want to get it right.

HI mocame,

Yes, if you disable Auctiva Shipping Insurance and Auctiva checkout, the listings will act as normal eBay insurance and checkout.

If you choose to purchase Auctiva Shipping Insurance with the money you receive for insurance, you can still do so by using the "Purchase Insurance" link next to the item on your Sales(tab) -> Transactions page.

I do notice if you use calculated shipping, there is no field to indicate the insurance cost. I'm checking up on this and will post again when I find out the solution.

I went to purchase insurance for an item that was paid for 3 days ago, but I am now shipping it out today, it says I can't purchase insurance if it's been paid for more than 2 days ago. Why is this ??
Now I have to give my insurance money to USPS, since it has to be sent out today.
Is there any way around this ??

CORRECTION: Item was paid for on the 25th & today is the 27th. That's only 2 days, not MORE than 2 days,
so what gives ??

Hi Lisa,

If you file a support case about this issue using the appropriate link on our help page, we'll be happy to apply in from our end.

The 2 days rule is actually 47 hours so they must have completed checkout on the 25th before the time you tried to purchase insurance on the 27th.
