Hi Laura, 1) You can either pay the $5 upfront and, when your customers choose shipping insurance, the insurance cost will automatically be deducted from your prepaid balance. Or, you can wait unti your balance reached $5 before making a payment. If you decide to quit using Auctiva and you still have a prepaid balance in your Auctiva Shipping Insurance account, you are always entitled to have those funds returned. 2) I just checked all 3 of your current listings which you have posted through Auctiva and I am able to see the Sellathon counter in each one. I'm not sure why you aren't able to see this off the top of my head but, if you would like further assistance with this matter, I suggest you file a support case using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free_auction_software_help/help.aspx-Mike

Hello,
So when is the due date for the Auctiva Shipping Insurance Balance?
You said we can wait till the balance reached $5. So if my balance is $5.95. I just make a paypal payment of $5 and leave $0.95 till it reach $5 again?
also how does this work? What does the amount you put in the box mean? -Additional Charge Amount (*Per $100 dollars of coverage)

I think as long as you pay it on semi-regular intervals, you shouldn't have any problems. I've had balances well over $10 without Auctiva ever making a fuss about it.

Hi Micky,
1) There is not necessarily a due date for your Auctiva Shipping Insurance balance.
Before you have made a payment, your outstanding balance can be as much as $5, at which point we will send you a billing reminder via email.
Once you have made a payment, your outstanding balance can be as much as $40, and we will send you a billing reminder via email once it reaches $20, and again at $40.
2) The "Additional Charge Amount" field on the Auctiva Shipping Insurance Settings page is to be used if you would like to charge more for shipping insurance than the rates indicated on our rates chart. For example, if you want to charge $1.50 for a $50 policy, rather than $1.30, you would enter 20 cents in that field.

Clarification please: Where it says "Per $100 dollars of coverage" does it really mean for each insurance bracket, like in your example?

Hi Camarias,
No, it actually does mean "Per $100". For example, if you were to enter 50 cents in the "Additional Charge Amount" field, only 50 cents would be added to the insurance cost displayed on our rates chart in either the $0.01 to $50.00 or $50.01 to $100.00 brackets.

I just read the following on eBay's Excessive Shipping Policy: (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-shipping.html)
"Insurance: Sellers offering insurance may only charge the actual fee for insurance. No additional amount may be added,"
With that in force, can we use the "Additional Charge Amount" field Auctiva provides and still be in compliance with eBay's policy?
