I've recently switched from ebay listing to auctiva.

Reason:

Simple, saving money on listings.

Problem:

Having left one system that was working just fine and dandy, I'm now stuck in a system that maybe I just don't understand enough about. Payment on the first item sold is not showing on auctiva. ebay won't let me revert to send dispatch. payment is done through paypal. item sent, feedback received from customer and I can't do a thing.
Can't manually override to show payment made, can't leave feedback.

Even worse:

If I try to cancel auctiva checkout, I find that all the current listings will be left in limbo.

Solution:

Need to find out how on earth I can continue to trade, customers will not be very happy. Not good when you are relatively new to trading!!!!

PLEASE ADVISE

I create my listings, schedule, and list through Auctiva, but manage the after-sale process through My eBay. It simplifies things immensely, since sometimes Auctiva won't let you do some things (like mark a transaction as paid when it thinks you haven't received a check!).

Good luck!

Hi purrcat,
Thanks for the advise, was contemplating the same thing, but that leaves me with several listings on auctiva that have to stay in their system. Only future listings will be enabled through ebay for after auction processing. Do I feel trapped or what???

I just let them stay there. If I don't look, they don't bother me!

Auctiva works great as a lister, but is worse than useless as an auction management tool. It's terrible at keeping track of which auctions have been paid and which haven't, and there is no way to mark them yourself.

If you're going to use Auctiva, you must plan a way to keep track of the status of your auctions. You can use My eBay, but I just use a spreadsheet, as that also allows me to track shipping dates, tracking numbers, and such.

OK, so now I've disabled the ebay checkout in favour of the auctiva checkout. Roll Eyes

NOW THAT SEEMS TO WORK FINE???? Smile Wink

Last two items sold are now showing up on the Auctiva checkout, great or what?? Smile Big Grin

NO WAY!! Mad

The item that was paid by e cheque through PayPal is naturaly showing up as "Uncleared", because this takes time. Not so to Auctiva, they show it as PAID!!!

Can I manully amend it? NO!! Mad Confused Red Face

The second item was an immediate payment through PayPal. Great. NO!! Auctiva shows this as "AWAITING PAYMENT". Can I change it manually?? NO!! Mad Mad Mad

Only solution is to go back into the ebay system that I didn't use as checkout to get anything done!! Confused Frown

ONE MORE MESS LIKE THIS AND AUCTIVA AND SELETHON ARE OUT!! AND ebay is back in!!!

Mad Mad Mad Red Face
