Okay, when I first came to Auctiva I NEVER enabled the Auctiva checkout. I use my free ebay seller's manager to manage after auction. I started getting emails stating that they couldn't get my mailing address...it seems that Auctiva went ahead and took over pay now buttons and since I had not enabled it all of the info for mailing addresses wasn't there.

So I enabled it, thinking that would solve my problems......not by half!

Now I have folks that can't checkout at all with Paypal....paypal timing out, blocked access to the site (probably due to the person's firewall), errors constantly coming to these bidders, etc. I am spending MORE time making invoices directly thru paypal to get my items paid! With a minimum of 200 auctions closing each week, this has become a true headache.

So today after having to create another 16 invoices for folks at paypal, I turned Auctiva checkout off...BUT...

How do I REALLY make sure it is off? I DO NOT even want my pay now buttons at ebay to reflect ANYTHING with Auctiva's checkout?

As a listing site, Auctiva has been the best paid versus free. But I think some time needs to be spent over the checkout feature here to make it more Buyer friendly...

Thanks for any help!

Hi if you followed the directions on the help page under checkout settings you should be OK as per the following
▼Can I offer eBay checkout?

Yes.

However, the use of Auctiva Secure Checkout is a default setting on your account.

If you would prefer to use eBay’s checkout, please disable Auctiva Secure Checkout:

1. Log into your Auctiva account
2. Click the "My Account" tab
3. Click the "Checkout Settings" link
4. Uncheck the box next to "Use Auctiva Checkout Services
5. Save your settings
Hope this helps
Steve

We only do checkout for items listed through Auctiva. That's the only way it works with eBay. Signing up isn't enough for us to take over the pay button. Our checkout has to be on, and the item listed through us otherwise eBay's checkout is used by default.

That in itself causes a lot of problems as we can't combine items with our checkout and items that use eBay's checkout. That in my mind screws companies like us. The checkout experience sucks for the buyer and we get the blame. The fact there is that we have no control over that since eBay doesn't allow it. The right thing to do would be allow us to combine items from different checkouts if the buyer comes through the Auctiva site to checkout. What typically happens is what happens here though, the seller gets tired of being stuck in the middle and having to create manual invoices to combine and then they quit our checkout, eBay wins. eBay gets more control of you and the buyer and they are happy. The seller and the 3rd party lose.

That sounds like a PayPal issue. I noticed they have a new site, and with new sites come problems like that.
