I have listed 3 or 4 items on accident to ebay while simply reviewing my work or just trying to revise and save.
I think the buttons need more description on them and or warning/confirm before posting to ebay. For example. Instead of the "POST" button. It should read "POST TO EBAY!"
I have had to cancel several auctions because of multiple posts and that has cost me frustration of having more items for sale than I have if I miss it. AND cost me money in listing fees when it posted and I had to cancel.
Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing when I first started using Auctiva. Now I'm used to all of the buttons but I sometimes still have to think about it for a second if I'm varying my normal routine at all..
Maybe the buttons could have mousever descriptions or something (of course, I wouldn't see them in Firefox, but still).
This morning I found another ad that I somehow double posted. I really don't know how I'm doing it!?
I thought of revising (instead of cancel), but I felt like I needed to get the ad off of there before I got a bid or something. Besides, It's hard enough to change a few words or a sentence for me in the HTML.
did you by chance double-click the "post" button? i havent examined the page to see if it would, but most websites if you double click a button you get billed twice, etc.
Sorry, about your double post. You know if you don't have time to revise the listing into something else. You could just go in and delete all the info on the double post, and go back in later and revise to something else. This way you still won't lose your money and no one will bid on something they dont' know what it is, lol. Just put in a couple words in the title and put in do not bid in the description.

Greetings, I would like to throw my two cents in on the buttons, as I have also accidentally posted a few times when I meant to save. I have some ideas that might be useful - in case you haven't already considered them: 1) make the "Save" button larger - harder to miss 2) an "are you sure?" pop-up -- I think someone said they get this. I do not. 3) change the order of the buttons to Save, Schedule, Post -- this idea may not go over well with people who have been using the listing builder for a long time, as they have gotten used to the existing order, but accidentally going to the scheduling screen wouldn't be as big a deal as accidentally posting your auction at a horrible time.
I would also love to see these buttons (and the Confirm Save button) at the top of the page also, so I don't always have to scroll to the bottom when I have clicked "Error Check" or made a minor adjustment. I know - this seems like a laziness issue, but all the scrolling is irritating when making a simple change to several listings that you have already scheduled for posting.

This must have just been a temporary thing. I am generally posting things to my store and therefore "post" as soon as I am done with a listing (doesn't matter what time since it isn't in the auctions). My listings always show in the saved listings folder...this is where I go to create similar listings. I rarely even go to my active folder, as I manage my listings through eBay once they have been posted.
Hi, I also see my listings in my saved folder regardless of how I save my listings. save, post or schedule. Im fairly new to this site and the first time I saw the save buttons, I too was like, ok whats what here. But then I just thought about it for a second. It really does make sense. I mean save it, post & save it, schedule and save it. I agree though if your not used to things like this and the different lingo programs use, it can be confusing. Thankfully I have experienced a similar design before and so far have not posted accidentally. It takes a little fooling around to get used to it. But then that is the case with any program you have never used before, correct?. It really doesnt matter how easy they try and make it for individuals. There will always be the getting used to it factor with any program you've never used. With a program like this one that has many functions, it will certainly take some time and probably a few mess up's to get it down pat.
