Because of the changes to eBay's business model (toward Fixed Price) and reduced visibility issues with Best Match search, the Scrolling Gallery might serve a better purpose as a "targeted ads" Window of selected items for some sellers, rather than defaulting to those listings ending soonest (or nearest viewed item). This is especially important for Store inventory items to gain visibility using the Window for targeted cross-promotion.
I would propose allowing a tag on specific items (similar to add/remove "featured") that places the item permanently in the Store window until closed or until cancelled for Store Inventory. This allows 30 day/GTC items a chance to be viewed, instead of constantly bumped by multiple-listed items with high STR. Who wants to see 16 of the same thing? "Hidden" tag could accomplish this, but at high maintenance to constantly hide high-relist-rate items. eBay recently removing the Multiple Listing Limit Policy (was only 15 concurrent) also increases the likelyhood of repeats on the Window for some sellers. Using "Featured" as an existing tag is another possibility for this purpose, but the ability to select all 16 (or is it 14) items concurrently in the Window needs consideration with respect to current use in Store (usually 3 or 4 limit).
Comments welcome.
