I just started using Auctiva for listing items, but I noticed something weird when I was writing a listing... I can't choose "Other / Read Item Description."

Now, I normally accept Paypal or Bidpay. I'm not asking you to add BidPay support specifically, of course! I'm merely asking you to add an "Other / Read Item" option so my buyers know that there's another choice if they don't, or can't, use Paypal. This is valid, some sellers may accept other payment methods, you know.

Thanks for reading. Hope this gets fixed, or at least addressed, soon. Smile

Hi Kitsune,

Are you refering to the other payment options with the little 'Maximize' part on it? Try clicking on the 'Maximize' and put in options.

If you have already done it or I am way off in assessing your question, then get back to us with more information?
Best of Luck! Smile

The only options available after clicking on "maximize" are personal check, money order / cashier's check, require immediate payment, and merchant credit cards. There is no 'other' option.

I'm wondering why this has not been added, to tell the truth.

Don't know why the other options are not really available. It might be to streamline the process, but it does become problematic to some.
You can use Seller Details to put payment instructions or put something in the Payment Instructions box. I realize it isn't exactly what you are looking for, but Auctiva doesn't use what you need in your case for whatever their reasons are.
All the best!

Doesn't it already cover every option that ebay allows?

Been awhile since I looked but last I knew ebay didn't allow the mention of BidPay as a payment option.

"Other" allows buyers to pay via a method that is not automated by eBay. For example, if you want to pay via PayPal, you get a special checkout page. If you want to pay via Money Order or Check, you get another checkout page which you are advised to print out and send along with the payment.

This option is useful when the buyer cannot (or will not) accept one payment method or the other. For example, my auctions are set up so only Paypal and Other are accepted payment methods. It allows people without a Paypal account to bid, but also prevents people from trying to pay with a money order.

Oh, using BidPay was forbidden for a while, but then eBay decided it was fine. Then the service was shut down, and then was bought out by another company and reopened. So, uh, there.
