Sellathon's eBay Listing Fee Calculator beta can be found at:
http://www.sellathon.com/ebay_calculator.htmlBeing a nerdy MS Excel expert, I created my own eBay fees calculator using IF and AND statements, a relatively simple process. I found the Sellathon calculator to be incorrect in several areas. Mine is based on US fee listings and options as of october 2007, and concentrates only on general listings since I don't do vehicles or land, etc. But there are fundamental probs with the Sellathon fee calculator, regardless of current fees, that may interest you at Sellathon/Auctiva. I do notice the copyright date being 2004, so maybe this is an old calulator, but if offered should be upgraded and updated...
1. eBay offers two "combo" packs for listing upgrades, each individual item of which can be selected independently, or with a price advantage using the combo feature:
a) the "Value Pack" which includes 'Gallery', 'Listing Designer' and 'Subtitle' (0.65 for the pack vs 0.95 for all included items, a 30 cent savings);
b) same goes for the "Pro Pack" which includes 'Bold', 'Highlight', 'Border', 'Featured Plus', and 'Gallery Featured' (29.95 vs 48.90)
It must be considered whether a user clicks on individual upgrade selections or whether the user wants the 'combo' pack so as to determine the correct fee.
2. The "Gallery Plus" feature is missing from the selections.
3. A BIN item requires a seperate value input to determine the listing fee, which fee is segregated into 4 price categories. The BIN can not be determined from the final value, nor from the starting price. E.G. in an auction, you set your starting price at 49.99 (fee = 1.20), a BIN price at 99.99 (fee = 0.25), but the item only sells at FV 55.00 (fee = 2.29, 5.25% x $25 + 3.25% x $30).
I post this in hopes that auctiva/sellathon may want to revisit the handy calculator to update it, and to let anyone who may use it know that your final fee calculation will not be correct.
Thanks
