I have a thing about disorganization.

I think it's sad that a company doesn't take the time to see if a customer is already a customer before sending them emails.

I have signed up for auctiva ages ago --- I think the first was after I talked to them at ebay live 2004 in New Orleans!

Today I got this email -
You stopped by to say "Hi" - Don't forget to sign up!

Now that you are back from eBay Live 2006, your head is probably brimming with new companies and services you'd like to look into. You have a stack of business cards and bags full of commemorative pins and other goodies from visiting booths and talking with vendors.

Well don't forget about Auctiva!

Before you get too busy, make sure to sign up for our free service.

Why? Because Auctiva can save you time and money!

Remember our attractive professionally-designed templates? Once you sign up you have access to over 400 free templates. Do you also remember that we offer unlimited image hosting, scheduling and store windows...all for free? In fact, once you sign up, all your current listings will be imported and a store window will be appended automatically. And it won't cost you a dime. There are no fees of any kind.

Register Today

Even though there is a lot to do after returning from a trip, don't forget to maximize your eBay business using Auctiva today!

Sincerely,

Cara Bray
Director of Marketing

I clicked reply and said -
Have to say this made me laugh. Obviously you just sent out emails without checking your owe records first as I have been signed up for a very long time!

HOWEVER - that was a waste of my time since I then got an email that said -
Thank you for contacting Auctiva.

WHY not supply PROTENTIAL customers with an email reply address that works?

WHY not check out your database to see that I am already a member?

WHY just spam folks that stop at your booth? And if yu insist on doing that - why not at least allow them to reply to the sender?

UPIC- at least you are out of their database, therefore they won't neccessarily know you were a customer before.

As you can see, I am alive and well here on Auctiva --- they just didn't bother to take the time to look first. A bit lazy if ya ask me.

Number one: Yep, I see where your coming from BTPS. Seems like an endless circle that shouldn't have begun to start off with. I'd send a support ticket, so Auctiva can nip this in the bud immediately.

Number two: I was with another third party service that didn't even acknowledge I existed, send out any notices (cept the monthly bill). Much less answer any of the emails I sent them or offers to pay for other members that stated they couldn't pay their bill.

Take care, Donna
(Good to see you posting, pair you with Steve and it's a huge amt of help/info for everyone here)

We send out one e-mail to everyone that stopped by our booth as a reminder to check us out. Many people use multiple e-mail addresses and/or usernames, so it is of little value to try to correlate who is a customer or who signed up but has forgotten to use our FREE services.

We purposely do not want anyone replying to that e-mail as nobody is checking that address, but we give links to our site for people who are interested and our help pages are very very very easy to find and use. Our help pages are the quickest most efficient way to get in touch with our support personnel who are working 24hours a day.

Luckily most of our current customers who receive this email and are already happy with our service just delete it (far easier than posting here).
