hello, not sure if this has been answered...is or when will Mr. Poster (free version) be updated to include a shipping calculator with new usps rates? currently on version 1.70, thanks
I'm very curious about this as well. Also, unless you already can and I'm missing it, I'd like to be able to do more than one method of calculated shipping, too (eg, Media Mail and Priority Mail). If you can already do this within Mr. Poster, can someone let me know how to add on additional calculated USPS services?
As of now there are no plans to add additional shipping services to Mr Poster. Mr Poster is meant to be a simplified listing tool, to quickly and easily generate many auctions at the same time.
Auctiva Poster is our more advanced program that allows you to choose up to 3 shipping services.
As for the recent shipping option changes on eBay for USPS, Mr Poster should not be affected by these since it doesn't support international shipping services, and the changes were only to international services.

The calculated shipping option on Mr Poster just tells eBay to automatically calculate the shipping price for the auction based on the buyer's location when they win your item.
So, any changes they made to their shipping rates will be taken into account when eBay calculates the shipping cost regardless.
As for the box dimensions, this will probably require an update to Mr Poster to allow you to enter dimensions for USPS Priority since this previously wasn't allowed.
We are looking into that now and I'll post as soon as I learn more.

Yes, the changes weren't just to international, now that you have the necessity for box dimensions for zones 5-8 if using a box larger than 1 cubic foot. I don't know if you have looked into how the DIM weight works, but it is extremely expensive, so can't be overlooked.
And given the substantial price hikes in shipping, I'd definitely hope you'd investigate making at least one additional calculated shipping option available in Mr. Poster. An example of why this would be needed now is that Media Mail is now zoned (it used to be flat rate for each pound), so if one wants to offer PM and MM, both have to be calculated. And as PM has risen, there will be more demand from buyers for additional options. And this is the only thing I'd want from your $9.95 plan, so it would be highly unlikely I'd pay 10 bucks a month for just this.
Version 1.71 of Mr Poster should be released some time tommorow.
This new version will include the ability to add package dimensions for USPS Priority mail, and also allows you to add up to 3 calculated shipping services.

Hmm... 1.71 was released on May 23rd. The previous version was actually 1.70.
1.51 is the version that is downloadable from the website, but it should automatically update itself the first time you run it.
If it does not auto-update, try going to the File menu and click "Check for Mr Poster updates".. and if THAT doesn't work, please file a support case and we can email you the files for the latest version manually.

While trying to get the 1.71 update (I'm currently at 1.7), I immediately get the following: Update failed. Please try upgrading to Internet Explorer 6 and running the update again. Or you may manually download the latest version of Mr. Poster at: http://classic.auctiva.com/download
I am running IE 6.x and the referenced url doesn't exist (forwards to http://classic.auctiva.com/Products/Download.aspx ) which might be part of the problem? Anyway, at the download page, all that is there is the downloadable version of 1.51.
